Who am I and why am I blogging?

Well. Where to start… I guess the introduction is the first step. Sounds easy. But it is not. Why? I am not a huge fan of telling people to much about me or putting pictures of myself or my family online. I feel like in our times of the “put-everything-about-your-life-and-the-life-of-others-on-Facebook-Twitter-and-so-on” we actually share too much about ourselves and we loose control about those info too easily. But I feel like you will get an idea about who I am if you follow my blog in the future. And I do understand, that as a blogger you have to share certain information. So here is what I am happy to tell you:

I am a woman. Sometimes I am strong, sometimes I am not. Sometimes I am disciplined and sometimes I give in. I love my two wonderful kiddies (a boy and a girl) and I adore my husband, who is also my best friend. We live in Down Under (Australia that is) after we moved here just about 10 years ago from what I call Up Over (Switzerland that was). Quite a change but it was totally worth while. So here is my personal issue with blogging in English: it is not my first language and I know I am making mistakes. But you know what? As long as you still get what I want to tell you, it’s okay, right?

So by now you know that I am a woman (one of the subjects I will blog about). And that I have two kids and a husband (another subject I will blog about). We also have pets (that might be another subject to blog about). I call it a zoo and they do drive me crazy sometimes… And we home-school. And this will probably be one of the main subjects of my blog. A subject I already wrote about in one of my first posts. It makes us different, here, where we live and by being different you open the door for oh so many comments… And this opens doors for oh so many blog posts…

Okay, I don’t want to loose myself here… Where were I? Ah, still introducing myself… So I covered the here and now basically. Maybe it’s time to give you a little inside in where I come from…

As I said: I am a Swiss woman, a mom and a wife, who now lives in Australia. I grew up in the mountains, in a little town which was rather quiet during the summer time and then turned into this crazy busy ski resort during winter. I was a happy child and besides growing up in a big house with a big garden I was also growing up with horses, dogs and cats (and all sort of other animals my mom fostered every now and then). I traveled and always loved doing it as I felt (and still do) that it opens your mind. I never got a University degree, although I was studying at a certain point but I felt like the life outside University was more for me and so I by coincident started working freelance for sport events (Media) and loved it. All my life I loved writing and I also love people and their stories. I did a bit of writing back then, but my work was more admin or organizational. It was the writing that I always loved but somehow never really made into a job. On the side I also worked as a dance fitness instructor (does Jazzercise ring a bell?), but that side was more for my fun than for work. Although I am no longer working as a Jazzercise Instructor I still love my daily workout routine and consider myself as pretty active.

I think I covered what I feel is essential to know about me at this stage and in doing so basically also gave you an idea about what my blog will be all about.

A Momma’s View will be about Life. My take on life. It will be about what I feel and think, my life as a woman and as a mom, as this is what I do now. About things that make me laugh and cry, happy and angry. It will be about my dreams as well, about my fears and about my worries. For me, for my kids, my family and the world we live in. Exercise plays a big role in my life and so does eating, so I am pretty sure that those subject will get covered a couple of times as well. I will share with you my take on homeschooling and the issues you have to deal with because you are not normal and the preconceived ideas people have about homeschooling parents and home-schooled kids. I guess that will probably be my most important subject… But who knows, as I am only just getting started, right?!

I do not have a single degree. And I consider myself as “research lazy”. So please don’t expect me to write a well researched blog as you would be disappointed. My posts will come straight from my heart, my head, maybe my soul.

So this is me. These are my thoughts, this is my blog-world. Thank you all for sharing my journey with me. I hope it will be a great one.
