One-Way Street

“Congrats! You are the owner of a new time machine. The catch? It comes in two models, each traveling one way only: The past OR the future. Which do you choose and why?”

I figured I might try to use one of the Daily Prompts for a change today, especially because I like this question a lot.

After thinking about it for a little while I have the following answer: I don’t want to travel back in time, as I would not change anything really. Mainly because as we all know from all those movies about traveling back in time, that if we change something small, something major will change as well. And I don’t want that to happen 😉

But I also don’t want to travel to the future, as it might freak me out. Do I really want to see how it looks like? No. Not yet. And honestly, I will see the future I am supposed to see. And I think that will be enough.

So as I said in a comment to Tidlidim before: I would probably try to sell it. So now it is all about figuring out for which one people would pay more… And I am not so sure about this… I would probably choose the traveling back in time machine as so many people always talk about what they would do or visit if they could travel back in time.

What do you think? Which one do you think you could sell easier?

  1. I think people have always wanted to change the past – people with nothing to lose would pay for that. The ones who are ambitious, they would go to the future.

  2. I love the idea of even thinking about this as a possibility. You could easily sell the one that goes back into the past. To sell the one that throws you into the future would need more convincing… the future is scary for some people

  3. it is an easy question I think. GO forward in time several weeks, get the lottery numbers from the week previous (as long as you are listed as the only winner, come back to present day and enter those number, voila, instant retirement.

  4. I think the fundamental question here is: what would you do with the money ? Sorry if I’m too curious 🙂
