Bumble Bee

Bumblebee_heucheraAerodynamically, the bumble bee shouldn’t be able to fly, but the bumble bee doesn’t know it so it goes on flying anyway! – Mary Kay Ash

I saw this quote for the very first time, when I was looking at a documentation of a friend of mine made as a handout for potential sponsors. You need to know, that my friend was always into sports and good in it. But she was not always my friend. I actually did not like her that much. That was in her life before her accident.

See, my friend had an accident skiing, which left her paralyzed. And that accident changed her. She struggled, she fought, she came out of it a different person. And, sometime after her accident, she became my friend. She found her way back into the world of sport and started playing professional wheelchair tennis. That is how she met her husband. Today she is one of my friends in Switzerland, who I dearly miss seeing over here. She is happily married and has two great kids. I am not sure if she realized how much this quote, which was so important to her, actually also affected me. So read it again and think about it. There is so much truth in it…
