Do You Ever Wonder?

Do you ever wonder what is out there? Right now?

I recently walked along the beach and when I stopped to take a breath and enjoy the view, I started wondering.

What is actually out there?

Of course there are plenty of fish in the sea, but what kind of fish? And what else?

While I am here standing and watching and thinking, what is out there? Are there dolphins under the surface? Whales? They are migrating… Are there sharks?

There are sharks in our area. Small ones and Great Whites. Maybe one of them is out there, being the huge majestic and fascinating predator he was shaped to be over millions of years.

How about turtles? A couple of years ago, there was actually a turtle on our beach, washed up and totally exhausted. Too far away from where it was meant to be. They took care of her or him and eventually releases the turtle back up where it belonged.

Who knows what is really out there at the moment. The very moment I stand there and wonder. All I know is that every single one of them is a miracle. They are out there aging their part in the circle of life. For millions of years already.

And here we are… Playing our part in this world. Actually a pretty sad part if you look around.

And I wonder. I wonder what they think when they stop and watch us rush around, cars in the background. Noise all over, towers shooting out of the ground, one after another. Watching, how we take more and more from what we all should share.

And I wonder what they think…

  1. I do sometimes, more when I am looking up at a star filled sky on a no cloud night, even more especially if I am somewhere with little to no light pollution.

  2. I am fascinated at all the possible things that could be lurking in the depths of our oceans. When I was a kid, giant squids were things of legend and now we know with certainty that they exist. That is now fact. What other beasts of legend exist out there? Things we write off as misidentification. A misunderstanding. I believe the Megalodon still exists.

This one got me thinking… I take our 2 dogs to the beach everyday (only 400 metres away) and I sat and thought “what is in there” too. So, plenty of fish, sharks? no we just have the Dogfish which is all honesty are Sharks after the have drunk from Alice in Wonderlands bottle; Whales? We get the rare one dead and washed up on the local shores; Dolphins have been known around here and I did see 2 Seals earlier this year a few metres from shore. What I do also is that last year some houses fell into the sea from the Isle of Wight opposite and we have often found random stuff from them, washed up; Containers often fall off ships, in fact (hubby is in the haulage business) one falls off on average every journey so the sea bed must be littered with them. What did come to me while reading this ladies blog is that the sea offers hope and opportunity: think about it, we eat from the sea, we use the sea for transporting food. necessary stuff and luxuries too and therefore it brings us hope for the future.
