Merry Christmas

Our tree is full of ornaments finally. That means Christmas is here. The kids did an amazing job, combining the ornaments we got for our wedding with ornaments we collected while traveling as a family over the last couple of years and the ones we bought here over time. And they are full of excitement. The ants in their pants might as well be little Elves… I wonder if they will manage to sleep tonight…

As I write this I indulge in a cup of a very special Nespresso blend, a coffee that apparently was lost for a while and rediscovered only a short time ago, somewhere in the Andes. Great marketing as so much around Christmas is. But you know what: I don’t mind. The coffee is actually amazing and the cookies I enjoy with it are not that bad either.

The kids watch a Christmas movie while they wait for the color of the canvases they paint for their Grandma to dry so they can finally wrap their gifts. They did an amazing job with it!

Our lead up to Christmas was slightly more hectic this year than usually. We’ve been away and then there were a couple of meetings and somehow the real Christmas spirit only just hit over the last couple of days… actually only just really yesterday. But it finally arrived.

Now it is all about figuring out which cookie to leave out for Santa tonight. When I suggested to put a carrot out instead of a cookie, the kids were very quick to tell me off. Santa does not like a carrot! I guess they were worried that he might not leave any good gifts behind for just a carrot ;-). We will see tomorrow…

Merry Christmas to all of you. I hope you will spend it with your loved ones and that you have an amazing time full of magic and love.

  1. Merry Christmas! My kids are so excited for Christmas eve tomorrow! We bake and make crafts and I actually look forward to Christmas Eve than Christmas as it is the only day that belongs to just me and the kids. We have to go to two different houses on Christmas Day so it gets quite exhausting! Have a good Day tomorrow πŸ™‚

  2. Merry Christmas! We always had to leave cookies for Santa and a carrot for the reindeer, so you might want to put one out with a nibble on it so they know Prancer and his pals were satisfied. πŸ˜‰

  3. Although I could manage it to get everything organized in surprisingly no time, this year was the busiest ever and so were the days before Christmas. My English book and as a result, my campaing activities, and my new appearance on social media took the biggest part of the time. I promised to myself that something has to change – beginning now πŸ˜‰ Merry Christmas to you and your family from spring-like Liechtenstein.

  4. What a happy post! I am lacking in the Christmas spirit this year (unusual for me), but I have enjoyed seeing posts like yours. Not having children and with a husband who works more holidays than not I think I miss some of the true joy of the season, so it is nice to find it here. Merry Christmas to you & yours!
