Happy Mother’s Day

I should still be in bed, maybe still sleeping or maybe waiting for a delicious breakfast in bed made by my lovely family. Unfortunately I’m not… I’m up early, preparing breakfast for the kiddies, chopping oranges and getting lollies ready.

A normal Sunday morning during soccer season. And of course the orange duty falls upon me on Mother’s Day. Yes, they offered. Even my little girl, who’s playing today with her team offered me to stay home.

Why would I though? I don’t care getting up early instead of staying in bed, heading out to the soccer field for a really early game (I might propose to the Club though to schedule Mother’s Day games an hour later next year…) and most probably face chilly wind and rain again. But then I get to watch my daughter and the other girls play soccer! I can see their excitement, their joy! What a shame if I’d miss out on that.

It’s what we do. Mom’s put everyone first. And we get joy and energy out of seeing our kids happy. We can see them smile and hear them laugh and in the end we’ll be rewarded with hugs and kisses.

This is and will always be the perfect Mother’s Day gift!
