The Encouraging Thunder Award

I feel very honored to have been nominated for a new award today. Thank you very much, Art By Rob Goldstein, for nominating me for the Encouraging Thunder Award! I would also like to mention some other amazing bloggers, who have nominated me for a couple of other awards over the last few weeks. Thank you very much, Erika Kind and Purpledragon (Premio Dardos Award) and Silver Lining Mama and Kim L Hine (Versatile Blogger Award). But now back to the Encouraging Thunder Award.

First of all let me say how much I like the name of this award! Encouraging Thunder! Wow! I love those two words. Encouraging… something so positive. Thunder… something so strong and unstoppable, a force of nature, if you want so. Now be to be nominated for an award that contains those two words makes me really proud. I love the idea that my blog might be encouraging. And I love the idea that it might leave a feeling like thunder does. In a positive way of course… Let it rumble a little bit 😉

As we all know, every award comes with some rules, so here we go:

Rules for this award:

  • Post it on your blog (Done)
  • Grant other bloggers the award (See below)

What you cannot do:

  • Abuse or misuse the logo.
  • Claim that it is your own handmade logo.

What you should do after receiving the Encouraging Thunder Award:

  • Enjoy the award! (Oh for sure!)
  • At least give thanks via comments, likes and/or mentioning the blog that you received the award from (Done)
  • Mention your purpose in blogging (See below)

What’s my purpose in blogging? Well, I’m not so sure how to answer that. I started blogging because I wanted to get back into writing. I wanted to see if I could stick to writing on a daily base, to blog on a daily base. And I had so many things in my mind I wanted to share. I still do. I was craving for some feedback from the outside and wanted to see if my writing in English (which isn’t my first language) is good enough for people to understand what I mean, where I’m going. I thought I might write about homeschooling and being an expat the most.

But what I found out, now looking back on approximately 8-9 months of blogging, is that you blog evolves. It shapes itself and what you might have planned to do will not be the “product” you will have in front of you. And I like the way it’s shaping up.

What I also found is an amazing community, an amazing exchange with all kind of people all over this planet. It’s so refreshing and so very inspiring. I love when my posts inspire others, I love it when we can help each other out with advice and maybe just a positive word here and there. Because we all need it from time to time. I also found that you are kind of drawn to the posts that give you exactly what you need in the very moment. And I hope that my blog, my posts, can give you something. A smile, an inspiration, a song that makes you feel good, a thought, a little motivation or a recommendation for another blog.

And now for my nominees:

Send Sunshine – Her words always inspire me
Erika Kind – I find a lot of inspiration in the exchange with her
Silver Lining Mama – You simply have to check out her SHE-Logy or the Courage Challenge. Very encouraging!
Undiscovered And Exposed – It’s the keep moving forward spirit that I find so encouraging
Estelea’s Blog – It’s just a beautiful place to hang out and her posts have such a depth. Encouraging it is!
No Plain Janie – Her posts so often appear when I need exactly that kind of encouragement.

And now I just went blank. I know there are so many of you out there. Some of them have been nominated by Rob already. As I said, there are so many of you out there, whose words encourage not only me but so many other bloggers on a daily base. Keep up the great work and thank you so much for all of your wonderful posts!

  2. Thank you — I think you were one of the first people I followed. And what impressed me the most about you was the way you stood up for OM. That set the tone for the way I understand the community on Word Press. So I’m glad to be able to give back.
