Not even a week after I’ve been nominated for the Blogger Recognition Award I got another nomination for this great sign of appreciation from Hello The World. Thank you so much Linh Tran for nominating me for the second time. Let me see what I can do here in order to follow the rules.
Let’s get to the rules for this award:
1. Select 15 other blogs you want to give the award to. At the end of the post…
2. You cannot nominate yourself or the person who has nominated you. Makes sense…
3. Write a post to show your award. Done
4. Give a brief story of how your blog started. Will do
5. Give a piece of advice or two to new bloggers. Okay
6. Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog. Done
7. Attach the award badge to the post (right click and save, then upload.) Done
8. Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them. Will do
I’m not sure how much sense it would make to repeat again what I’ve written the first time I accepted this post re how my blog started. Please head over there to get a brief idea of A Momma’s View’s history. Maybe I just give you a short little update on my stats (as I am just slightly proud of the numbers…). You all helped me to definitely reach my goal of hitting 50’000 views until the end of this year. Although it’s still a bit to go until New Years Eve I’ve surpassed it and the ticker has reached 51’673 views as I write this. I’m also just 6 posts shy of having published 1000 posts. Crazy, right? Well, for me those numbers seem crazy.
I thought long and hard what my aim re stats should now be. Although the number don’t really matter and it’s more about the exchange and the inspiration I find in the blogger community I feel they give you those little kicks in the butt when you need them most. And it’s also kind of rewarding to see the numbers climb.
So I’ve reached the figure I wanted to see re views and the 1000 post mark is just around the corner. I figured I might try to reach the fantastic number of 1750 followers until the end of the year (currently standing at 1355 blog followers, 109 Facebook followers and 103 Twitter followers).
What does that mean for this blogger? Well, I guess I will read even more posts and will comment even more and hopefully in doing so get some of the bloggers out there to come over and visit and maybe follow this Momma on her journey. And if I don’t reach this number? No big deal, it won’t bring me down. It’s good to have goals and that’s just one of a couple I have at the moment.
My advice to new bloggers:
In my last post I mentioned the one thing I find the most important:
Just do it. Write about what you want to write about. Share your thoughts and stay true to yourself. Interact with your readers and reach out to new or different blogs. It will inspire you. If you have found a clear niche then good on you, but if you haven’t don’t let anybody tell you that you can’t blog without having a clear niche. I don’t have millions of followers and I’m not making money with my blog but I have 1340 great people who thought my blog would be interesting enough to follow on a regular base. And that makes me happy! Your blog is your space. It’s like your home. You decide what you want to share and your readers are your guest. Guest that you welcome in. They might like your place or they might not. But keep it your place. Because then it will make you happy.
In addition to this I would like to suggest to you the following:
Be out there and connect! Read, read, read other blog posts and comment. Not only read the posts but also the comments as sometimes you find a really thought provoking remark there too. Comment on comments if you feel like you have to say something. You will be amazed about how much inspiration and food for thoughts you will gain from this interaction. Try to venture out and not only read the posts of the blogs you follow but every now and then discover something new. Maybe in a different niche.
Have fun with award nominations. Not only will they tell your readers more about you but you will also meet new bloggers by simply be one of the nominees. Check each other out.
Take part in a blog event or reply to a prompt (Daily Post). Try to read some of the reactions to the prompt too. Again: You will most probably gain not only a different point of view but also a lot of inspiration from doing so.
Well I guess that’s all I have to say. And now to my nominees:
It’s not 15 but I tend to not stick to the rules given for awards to the dot. Please check these bloggers out, they are really cool. And keep blogging :-). And here a little quote to end this post:
“There’s nothing I like more than rewards. Well, other than awards. I also love coffee a lot too. Being rewarded with a coffee award would be the ultimate euphoria for me.” – Jarod Kintz, I love Blue Ribbon Coffee
