Here we go again, another round of the Quote Challenge. This time it was Estelea’s Blog that invited me to join in. I love her blog and the stories she has to tell. An expat, a mom and living in what most of us definitely would consider paradise and also a humanitarian. She truly has a lot to offer. So head over and check out her blog, if you don’t know her yet. And if you do: Head over anyway π
The rules are pretty easy:
- Post 3 quotes over 3 days
- Invite 3 bloggers each time to carry on with the challenge
To make this a little bit special, I have decided to use quotes that were mentioned to my by my readers over the time. Yes, I safe them!
I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I’m not sure you realize that what you heard was not what I meant. – Alan Greenspan
Mentioned to me by the first blogger I’d like to invite to participate in the Quote Challenge, Pensitivity101, back in May in a comment to my post “Do You Hear What I Hear?”
I’ve heard the quote before but never who said it. Alan greenspan, hmmmm

It’s always fun. The difficult thing is choosing. There have been so many good things said. You always find good ones. π

That one is really good. It is all a subjective perception!

It is. I think it’s awesome how sometimes great quotes and sometimes just great remarks are left in the comments. So I figured it would be a good theme for the Quote Challenge this time around. Are you back home?

That is absolutely true. Many of my quotes occur from comments I or others make. They are just great!
Yes, I am home since Sunday evening. Still about to catch up with everything at home… and already preparing for the upcoming Holiday season… not to forget planning my next blogger meetings… lol

That’s a good one! I hadn’t thought about Alan Greenspan in a few years. He’s such a character.

I love that… what you heard is not what I meant. This happens frequently to me!

Oh yes! Sometimes I wonder if I speak an entirely different language to some people…

Great quote. Those misunderstandings have happened to me on more than one occasion; too many to count actually.

Yup, same here… and still happening. I actually got to the point where I thought that I lack the ability to properly express myself until I realized that the other person just doesn’t want to hear what I’m saying…

Yes, me too. I finally came to the conclusion that they were hearing what they were used to hearing in the past. It wasn’t until they learned me better, that they began to hear more ‘clearly’.

Wow! The misunderstanding happens to you hearing people too! I get that a lot and thought it was my deafness being the cause of it.

Oh no!!! I’m pretty sure you “listen” properly where hearing people want to hear what they want to hear…
