My Picks Of The Week #51

I know they are late today. Did you expect to able to read them earlier? Well, here’s my apology: I don’t have one. It was a hot day yesterday and after running around all morning I decided to take the kids to the beach for a dip, which was fantastic. Then it was off to our friends for a lovely catch up. Well, all the boys headed to the movies to watch the new Star Wars movie and us girls stayed home and enjoyed each others company. Anyway, here are my picks of this week and I hope you will enjoy them as much as I did.

You Are Pretty Fucking Special
We’ve all been there at least once…

Erika Kind
A very inspiring post about letting go of what was and embracing what will be…

Nick jr. Parents
Well, I think you could come up with a great list about what’s the upside of a chilly Christmas too. But I did love to read her points…

I found this a very interesting post to read…

Ramblings And Musings
Sometimes it’s all about realizing how great it is to not be a certain way…

Mitch Teemley
A question we probably all asked ourselves… I found this a very interesting explanation.

This spoke to me. I will probably go further into it in a post. Just so much: I never understand how you would want to rush around instead of enjoying your time together. I was talking about this with a friend of mine recently. And then I read this post.

Harsh Reality
I found this a really great post to get a bit of an overview on the elections in the US and the many issues involved with the candidates…

Art By Rob Goldstein
A fantastic post about community, surviving and the power of sticking together… and all the changes that have been made…

Now, let me get ready for another hot day. Take care and remember: Spend time with your loved ones rather than rushing around. Have a happy weekend you all πŸ™‚

  1. First of all thank you so very much for including one of my posts again in your weekly pics. Thank you also for including Robert’s post. I missed that one and I am so glad I could read it because of your mention. I even reblogged it! You are doing a great job with this Sandra!!! Thank you πŸ’–

  2. I was about to respond with a differing opinion re your penultimate pick (from OM), until I saw that you sort of had one in your last pick. However, I can’t end without stating that, in my opinion, and possibly one of my Self-Evident Truths, is that the liar you know, which in OM’s opinion describes Mrs. Clinton, is better than the liar you don’t, which describes most of the Republican candidates, though their past and present lies are starting to come to light. Perhaps I should say instead the one you expect to lie to you, as many believe of Mrs. C, in the best interests of the country as a whole, is preferable to any of the ones that you expect to act on only what is true for them and their limited circle of buddies, whether religious or social or financial conservatives, to the detriment of the majority of their fellow citizens.
