Hello Mindful Monday…

… or maybe not just yet!

A couple of weeks ago I decided to join Silver Threading on her mindful journey to a healthier lifestyle. I chose probably the worst time to do so. Not only were the Holidays coming up, but we were also about to move house, going away and I was getting ready to work full time on a casual base for the entire month of January. How’s this for not being able to stick to your normal routine?

Perfect, to shake things up, right?

Most definitely, but the last thing you want to do during a time like this is changing your eating habits…

Now, that everything I can tick everything off the list, I can give you the following update:

  • My eating habits did change
  • I lost weight
  • I didn’t exercise for the entire month of January
  • I feel great

And here are the reasons why:

Do you know how the saying living life off nothing but mere air and love? Well, it kind of was similar.

I think you can actually produce endorphin too when work makes you happy ;-). Very rarely did I feel hungry. And when I did, I was happy to just snack on something like nuts or fruits. Maybe I fed from the energy over everyone around me. If I did, I sure hope you gave them some back!

I will get back to a normal routine now. And I’m also looking forward to that… Well… the exercising will feel a bit hard again after having stopped it for 4 weeks, but I can handle that too 😉

As I never make new year’s resolutions, I also never get to the point where I get disappointed about myself for not sticking to them.

I, however, make plans. And now my plan is to eat healthier again and get back into exercising and finally drop the weight I want to drop and stay there for as long as possible. (How about you guys? Did you make any new year’s resolution and are you sticking to it?)

As they say: It all starts with today. So today it is! Or hopefully will be! Today, although it is my mindful Monday, I will be on the road. There will be many temptations to not stick to healthy options. Don’t you think too, that when you are traveling you usually don’t choose the healthy option? Maybe it’s just me… However, I will try to this time! It can be done! I will provide you with an update as soon as I have arrived 🙂

  1. Woo HOO! I am so glad to see that your journey is taking you where you want to go! Good for you. Sometimes I think if we think on this stuff too hard we defeat ourselves! I can’t wait to hear all the updates! Best of luck to you! ❤

  2. When you do what you love you never work a day in your life. It’s great when things are going so smooth and are so fun you feed off their energy and they yours and work doesn’t feel like work all.

  3. I am glad that January was a positive month. I did pretty well. I made forward movement on most of my goals so I feel good about the month too. I am going to do a little re-evaluating and keep going. Have a Fabulous February!
