Hee Hee… I think you mean they weigh 3-6.5 kg 🙂 Eagles are amazing birds. You really don’t understand how big they are until you see one up close.

Just a month ago there was a convocation (I just now learned that) of eagles here. We counted 17 flying around over the water looking for food. I’ll send you one of the shots she got. I saw a couple in “re-hab” in a zoo. That’s where I saw first hand how big they actually are. Incredible birds…

How amazing!!! I had a short and stunning encounter once with a golden eagle. Post will be up on a couple of hours. Other than that only saw Eagles in rehab myself.

I agree that the bald eagle is a magnificent bird however our Ben Franklin did not exactly share that view. http://www.greatseal.com/symbols/turkey.html

There are some nesting grounds not to far from where I live. The University sets up live feed camers in the spring so people can watch the babies grow without bothering them.

Since I knew the bald eagle was the USA’s national bird, I had to “wikipedia” it to see if there are any in Australia. Entry says no so I’m wondering why and how you happened upon this topic.
