I guess we all wonder at some point what we will leave behind. What will be our legacy? Will the story of our life be told by our kids, grandchildren and their families or will everything just be forgotten?

Will we be able to leave a mark? A mark that actually matters and that will guide our loved ones to a better place?

Did we lead by example well enough for our children to follow our footsteps and try to do the same? Or did we even inspire them to reach higher, further, for more?

Were we able to fulfill our dreams so that in the end we don’t really have a bucket list left and only want to hug our loved ones one more time, looking back, knowing that we could not have done any better?

Will we be able to pass this feeling of fulfillment on to our children so that they also know that everything is totally worth hanging in there, even if the ride seems a bit rough at times?

The only thing that is clear to me is, that we will never really know what our legacy will truly be. But if we live our life to the fullest, with values and respect we will for sure inspire others.

Stories will be told and things will be remembered. It’s up to us to make them good ones.

Wise words and time goes by so fast. What will I leave, will we add to this world or take away from it? Time will tell but sometimes we let time get away from us and I think we all regret things we have not done.

  2. On my door tucked into the wreath hangs a set of wind chimes from a plaque that gifted to me….a quote back at ya, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

This is what “Legacy” is for me.

Thank you for this thought provoking post.

  3. It all comes down to stewardship, doesn’t it? WE can only do the best we can with what we have been given. As since time began, lovers will love, haters will hate and we have little control over either. The best legacy that I can hope for is that the lovers will be believed more than the haters.
