#AtoZChallenge: N Like Nena…

Nena is a German singer. I grew up with her music and still like listening to her old songs. You might know the song “99 Red Balloons”. It was Nena’s first song I heard back in the days, of course in its original German version. One of my most favorite songs is the one I’m sharing here. It’s called “Lass mich dein Pirat sein” (let me be your pirate). I shared this song with you before and if you are keen to know what the lyrics mean you can find an English translation here.

  1. I couldn’t stand Nena in the 80’s. She seemed so arrogant to me. But I always liked songs like “Leuchtturm” and the one you posted. When she came up with “Irgendwie, irgendwo, irgendwann” I started to like her. That song is still one of my favorites (the original, not the duet with Kim Wilde). Since she had her comeback in the new millenium I am a fan of hers. She changed a lot and her songs became very deep. She is an amazing woman and with about 53 she simply looks amazing!
