Tell Me Something Good #5

Let’s kick off the week with a good thought. I got inspired by this one evening on my way home, listening to a radio show in which they asked people to call in and tell them something good. I so loved the idea that I decided to make it a weekly feature on my blog.

It’s easy: Mention something that you consider being good in the comments or in a post you write on your blog (please link it to this page so I don’t miss out and to be sure that everyone gets to read it share the link in the comments below). Something good that happened to you recently, or something good you will experience in a little while, or something you are looking forward to. Something that makes you feel good. Something you want to be good, something you expect to turn out good.Whatever comes to your mind! This is about sharing something positive.

And here’s what I’d like to share with you today:

“It makes me happy hearing my kids giggle…”

  1. It makes me feel good to finish a project that adds value to our lives. My blog is new, so it currently only has projects in progress. I’ve already painted my son’s room a soft orange (think creamsicle), the office a calming blue (dark, similar to a royal blue), and began spring cleaning by tidying up the guest room. Every one makes me feel like I’m contributing something of real benefit to our family and nothing could make me happier.
If you’d like to check out the projects I have posted the url is https://marylandhousewife.com.

  2. Something really good that I have been enjoying is seeing my husband working on projects around the house and patiently allowing the kids to help and teaching them thoroughly as he goes through each process of each task. It’s good to see the bond forming, the confidence growing and their eagerness to be around him.

  3. It makes me happy to tidy up and organize. I just went through my yarn stash over the weekend and realized the mess it was in was blocking inspiration šŸ™‚ I feel better now that I tackled it.

  4. What a nifty thing to do! Love Love Love positive blog sites. I will be exploring you a bit more.
    In the mean time:
It makes me feel good to listen to my 50 year old husband play with the dog. Listing to him giggle and roll around on the floor like a kid while he tries to find the black lab Duke’s ball that has been deliberately pushed under the couch by said dog. I’m pretty sure he loves the dog as much as he does his kids. And me. Possibly more on some days. And I’m okay with this. The dog is pretty darned awesome:)

  5. The greatest joy this weekend was the blessing of making a wonderful day for two people perhaps a bit more wonderful. I was engaged for singing on a wedding and it all went better than perfect!
That is what I want to leave here: It makes me happy when I can bring joy with something I feel joyful about!

  7. I was told a story about Fort Mac fire evacuee who left their house in a big hurry. The mom grabbed the kids clothes but didn’t have time to get her own. When they got to safety, she went shopping for a few items for herself and when she went to pay a lady in line behind her overheard that she had evacuated Ft. Mac and paid for her clothes (rough $100) and wished her a happy Mother’s Day. Yesterday, while talking to a friend who had moved back here from Fort Mac, I found out it was her clothes the other lady had paid for! She also said that when she and her husband and 2 kids moved back they found their cottage all ready for them complete with a fridge full of food.

      • The story was shared in a comment in my “Fort Mac On My Mind” post. I didn’t share that it was my friend the commenter was talking about because I just found out a couple days ago. The commenter doesn’t know who the story was about, just that it happened. So essentially, the commenter shared a story about someone who is a stranger to her but happens to be a friend of my wife and I šŸ™‚
