I was so focused on the #atozchallenge that I totally forgot about Cee’s amazing Share Your World Challenge! So I’m just combining the last two weeks in one post and hope you check out her series of challenges she offers on her blog.
List things or events that changed your life?
Getting that call of a friend of mine many years back about a potential position I was always dreaming of definitely was life changing. Life changing because it kicked off a series of life changing events. First of all I got the job, then I met my husband at the same time and then we got married, had our son, moved to Australia and had our daughter… Best series of events ever. And they definitely changed my life.
Of course meeting the person you want to spend the rest of your life with changes a lot but the big changes come when you become parents. Good changes, but big ones. It’s no longer about you or your partner. It’s about your family, your child, you all as a unit. You “move” together, you grow together and you change together.
And then the move… I mean moving country is a big thing. Moving as far as Australia is a big thing. Moving to a country with a different language is a big thing. A lot of changes, a lot of settling, a lot of new experiences. A lot of fun but also a lot of challenges. They all make you grow. Grow as a person, grow as a family (in our case really grow as a family…) and grow as a unit. Although you remain the same it also changes you to a certain point. Because you uproot, un-root and then you grow new roots. You become a transplant. And you then grow further in different soil…
Complete this sentence: Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it’s…
… a unicorn… sorry, I couldn’t help myself 😉
What genre of music do you like?
I like all kind of music. From Country, to Pop, Rock, Classic… I’m not stuck on a genre. I either like a song or I don’t.
If you could have an endless supply of any food, what would you get?
I guess fresh vegetables and salads and fruits. Sounds so healthy, I know… Not that I only eat those but I think I would miss it the most if I couldn’t get any of them anymore…
List at least five movies or books that cheer you up.
I love Guardians of the Galaxy, Ferdinand (movie and book), Inside Out, Moana… I’m a child in that sense but I love the message the movies have and the way they bring it across. I guess books are a bit of a different story as I love to read Dan Brown stuff so not really a cheering you up kind of genre…
If you were a mouse in your house in the evening, what would you see your family doing?
Cooking and eating together sometimes. Sometimes cuddling up on the sofa watching a movie together. Sometimes being spread out over the house doing our own thing. Sometimes playing a game together. Sometimes having friends over. I guess most of the time the mouse would see us have a good time and enjoy our company. Sometimes it would see us being annoyed at each other too though…
What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.
Thinking about what they mouse could see made me realize what a great family I have. Well… I know that anyway, but it just became so clear again. We have a good time together. Yes, there are the arguments and the not so good ones but it’s like a thunderstorm. It comes and goes and clears the air. Most of the time we have a great time. We love each other and look out for each other.
