Share Your Wold – My June and July catch up

So I thought I only left one one of Cee’s fabulous Share Your World challenges. It’s actually 3 of them! Oh my, oh my! Before wasting anymore time I better get to it. You should definitely check out her Q&A challenge. So many good questions and even more good answers by herself but also by everyone participating. Now let’s get to it…

If aliens landed on earth tomorrow and offered to take you home with them, would you go? (remember this is SYW, they are friendly aliens)
Yeah, I might. But only if I knew I could come back again if I wanted to. I would see it like going on vacation. As an adventure to explore new places and new cultures. Maybe even learn a new language. Image how much fun it would be. And somehow I can’t stop thinking about traveling and how it might feel like entering Alien territory as some cultures are so different to others. So I guess if you are prone to the travel bug and exploring, if you are open to discover new areas and new cultures then you would be totally fine by going along with some Aliens and experiencing their world…

How tall are you? Are you satisfied with your height?
I am. If I would be a bit taller I would be too. And I guess if I’d be shorter then I would be too.

Do you think you could live without your smartphone (or other technology item) for 24 hours?
Yes. Of course. We all could. For some it would be easier and for some harder. Yes, I would find it a bit difficult to not be able to check my email whenever it suits me or send a text to my friends when I feel like it but I would most definitely survive.

It’s actually something I often struggle with. When people use terms like “I’m starving” or “I’m dying if I can’t do this or that” or the “I can’t survive without xy”. I try not to use the terms. I know there is nothing wrong with it but they simply don’t sit right with me…

Tell us about your first bicycle or car?
If I remember it correctly my first bicycle was light blue and had 3 gears which was amazing back then. My dad taught me how to ride it and I was so proud when I finally could. There were falls and bruises but also many fun “adventures”. My first car was a Subaru. Loved driving it. It was also the car I had my first accident with. It was not my fault and I find the other driver was also not really at fault although officially she was. The conditions that day were just crazy. Driving was like driving on soap and so she lost control of her car and hit me. Fortunately we both were driving very slowly.

What fictional world or place would you like to visit?
Atlantis! I’d love to visit Atlantis. Just the idea of living under water seems amazing to me. Other than that? Maybe Tinkerbell’s home or then Neverland… But to be honest, I’m actually quite happy with the world I live in. There are so many wonderful places here that sometimes it almost feels like living in a magic world…

If you could have someone follow you around all the time, like a personal assistant, what would you have them do?
I’m actually very used to have someone follow me around all the time. First of all I have kids and while they no longer follow me around like they used to a couple of years back I had some additional shadows wherever I went… I do have 2 dogs though that hardly ever leave my side. And in a way they are almost like personal assistants, especially when I’m in the kitchen and food drops…

But let’s be serious for a moment. Having someone follow me around all the time would most likely drive me insane. I would love to have someone clean up, clean the house, do the chores I hate doing. But on the other side I need to do them too to enjoy my day. Even if it’s just experiencing the satisfying feeling of knowing I’ve done it and it’s done. So I would probably send that person on a wild goose chase in order to get rid of them.

What would you name the autobiography of your life?
That’s me? Not sure… Me, myself and everyone else? I survived? I kept going? It was worth it? How to live a happy life? Clearly I’m not ready for an autobiography… 😉

Which do you prefer sweet, salty or buttery?
Food. I love food. While I’m typing I’m sipping on my coffee and I guess right now it would be sweet. Butter is always good. Real butter though. I just simply love food. And there is a place for sweet, for salty and definitely for buttery.

What’s the finest education?
The lessons you learn from life. The lessons people teach you. The moments you experience. Every single one of them. Life as such. That’s the real education. There are so many amazing things out there. Things that blow my mind and I love learning about them all. I love learning mechanics of technical things. It blows my mind how scientists can come up with formulas that then heal diseases. I’m wowed by the fact that people were able to create a plane and make sure it could fly from one corner of the world to another. And it’s all worth learning about. I love learning different languages and speaking some of them.

But the real lessons and the finest education is our experiences.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.
I loved all the hikes we did over the last week. We saw so many wonderful places and had such a great time together. I’m also so happy that Miriam asked me to guest blog for her and I admit I felt almost a bit stressed about it as my writing doesn’t flow as much at the moment. I guess she asked at the right time (or better sent me the reminder about it in the right moment) and what was flowing from my fingers ended up being pretty okay. The last couple of days showed me once again how important it is to spend quality time with your family. That’s what memories are made of and those memories will put a smile on your face long after the actual moment has passed…

  1. Awesome answers. Life experience is such a great teacher. As Mark Twain said, “Never let schooling interfere with your education.” I think I would name my autobiography Been There, Done That. 🙂
