Cup Of Coffee

I’ve came across this a couple of times now and each time I see it I simply love it. There is actually so much to it. And it’s so simple:

I love this analogy!!!

You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps into you or shakes your arm, making you spill your coffee everywhere.

Why did you spill the coffee?

“Well because someone bumped into me, of course!”

Wrong answer.

You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup.

Had there been tea in the cup, you would have spilled tea.

Fact is: Whatever is inside the cup, is what will spill out.

Therefore, when life comes along and shakes you (which WILL happen), whatever is inside you will come out. It’s easy to fake it, until you get rattled.

So we have to ask ourselves… β€œwhat’s in my cup and what will I spill?”…

When life gets tough, what spills over?

Joy, gratefulness, peace and humility?πŸ’“

Or anger, bitterness, harsh words and reactions? πŸ’£

You choose! πŸ’―

Today let’s work towards filling our cups with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation; and kindness, gentleness and love for others.πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»

How You Treat Yourself

Isn’t that the truth! And yet it’s something so hard. I find we are the harshest critics of ourselves. And while we need to cut ourselves some slack I also think it’s important to be mindful of what your doing. While you keep that in mind stay on top of your self talk. Be kind to others and yourself.
