It’s that time of the year where I only have soccer in my mind… so much to do in my volunteer role… No excuse though to forget about posting this in time for our Aussie Monday. I guess you are probably already used to seeing this only pop up on Tuesday but I might as well surprise you next week so watch out 😉

“That retrograde is really getting to me! I had the most miserable day yesterday and frankly: this post would have probably not turned out the way it does now if I would have written something yesterday. Now, while I know that the retrograde is not over just yet, today was a much better day and I’m actually back to my happy and positive self. That in itself is a good thing, right?! So I will just enjoy it for now and get ready for the next round of bumps that might appear out of the blue until the stars will be aligned in a better way again (hopefully soon). Keep smiling, people!”

“Sometimes life can be a b**** and can throw us totally off. I find that when things like this happen people tend to keep it to themselves. Out of fear or out of pride, maybe out of fear of being judged. I had to deal with a situation today chasing a payment in my volunteer role. My gut feeling immediately was that the person most likely struggles to get the money to pay off the rest of what he had to pay. As we all live in a fairly wealthy area it’s usually not what people expect could be wrong. As we all know everyone carries their burden and sometimes things go wrong. So I sent them a message reminding them of the open account but also mentioned that I’m happy to have a chat to find a solution if there is an issue. I just finished talking to them and I struggled to not start crying listening to all that went wrong for them. It was honest and raw and ended in a promise to find a way to get the money to settle the account. What makes me happy though is, that someone has stepped up to cover for that family after I reached out to them and explained the situation. And I’m excited to call them in a little bit to let them know the good news…”

“Last week we had a pretty amazing constellation in regards to the full moon, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn (from my understanding). And while I love to just simply look up I didn’t want to let a massive opportunity pass to see them a bit better. So on Friday evening I packed the family in the car and drove them to a nearby park where the Astronomical Society of Victoria had set up 20 telescopes of all different sizes and strength for people to catch a view of the planets and the moon. It was amazing! While we all were tired and a bit hesitant to head outside into the cold again we for sure were glad we did so when we were there. Things like this make you realize how amazing our world and the universe are and how little we are in comparison. And while it’s fun to snap a pic of the moon with the iPhone, it’s even more fun to take a pic through the telescope’s lens and get a result like the pic of Saturn… “

Busted! It’s Tuesday once again here. I was thinking of this post all day yesterday but there was stuff going on that knocked me down and I just couldn’t get myself to write this post. I mean, I could totally pretend that everything is great and use all the positive and cheerful words to pretend I’m floating on a pink cloud of happiness. But yesterday was not a day like that and I don’t like to pretend although I put up a brave face anyway.

Today is a better day although still dealing with everything. But the good thing is, the clouds have settled and now it’s about moving forward from here. So let’s do this. Let’s kick this week off on a positive.

“Alright… So yesterday was crap. A bad start into the day and then a cloud hanging over me for the rest of the day. I had plans for the evening, actually a business training event but I had to cancel. Too much for one day. So you are wondering where the good part is that I’d usually share here. The good thing is that I believe that things happen for a reason. There is simply no way you can change certain things and you have to accept and then run with it making the best of it. I live by the ‘one door closes, another one opens’ philosophy. So instead of heading to the training I took my daughter to her soccer training and took the dogs with me to walk with them while she was training. It was windy and grey and cold but it made me feel so much better. It was as if the cloud around my head was lifted. Suddenly the thoughts were able to flow again. Today was a much better day and the week will be much better as well. It’s truly what you make of a situation. So don’t let anything stop you! Get in charge of it. Grab it and then you run with it. Don’t let it run you!”

Let’s take charge of the week and make it a good one. I have started on a high with a beautiful walk in a beautiful area. Yes, I have missed to post this one yesterday but we spent too much time outside having fun and by the time I was back home I was simply too tired to turn on the computer and type. “It was a beautiful day today, super windy from the very beginning but that didn’t really matter. I still wanted to go out for a walk and I didn’t regret it. I loved to watch the leaves being blown around and we all made it back home before the heavy rain hit. Apparently there is much more of a storm to come. The one hope I have is to make it to the city nice and dry in order to then enjoy one of the most amazing entertainers and female role models of our current time…”

“Being ask to write a guest post for a blog you admire is simply amazing. That’s one of the amazing things that happened to me (stay tuned). On top of that I got asked to work an event with a friend of mine and while it was a demanding role and my body feels super sore today, it was amazing and gave me the buzz I needed. The last couple of days were amazing as we also spent heaps of family time, heading to places we’ve been and places we’ve never been before and experienced our “backyard” as a family. I feel like one of those toys you could wind up and they would then go full speed. All of this gave me so much energy and I can’t wait for the next couple of outings we have planned…”

“I’m a bit late today. It’s because we spent all day out and hiking. It was such a beautiful day! The sun was out, the air was fresh and we had the most amazing day ever. We did a hike that we’ve not done yet. Well… we’ve done a tiny bit of it after Miriam had recommended it to me. Today we did almost all of it. And it was beautiful. I like being out there and in the forest. I believe there is something to forest bathing… but it’s also about discovering new things and enjoying new views…”

“Last week was a rough one for me. Hence the radio or better blogging silence. I always thought that the crazy old women group dancing in the kitchen (just like the one in the gif) would include me and specific friends of mine. One of them has just passed away. Sometimes things don’t go according to plan. While I’m still grieving of course, I also see so much positive. It makes me happy to have met her. To have had the chance to spend time with her. I’m thankful for all the giggles we had over countless bottles of wine.
There is an interesting side to it all. I know I can grieve as her friend. But at the same time I almost feel bad for it because I can only imagine how hard it is on her husband and kids. Just like we are all there for him and the children, my friends are there for me. They have reached out and check in on me still. This has shown me how much I mean to so many people while I was wondering if my friend ever knew how much she meant to me. And what a beautiful feeling to see how much your friends love you…”

Oh hello there! Today I’m coming to you from my Tuesday which feels like a Monday as we had a long weekend and enjoyed a public holiday yesterday. Hence me not realizing that it’s actually Monday and totally forgetting about this post… my, oh, my… Anyway, most of you are reading this early enough to start this week with a positive bang. Right? So even if it is Tuesday in some places already it’s still early enough to make this week a good one.

And round and round in circles you go. It’s totally fine when it’s about dancing. But hey, mix it up a little bit. You are in charge. Do it! Shake the hips, shimmy and do the twist… And once you are done here is what I’d like to share with you today:

“We took the kids to one of our favorite hikes. It’s also a hike we can take the dogs to, which is not a norm here in Australia. A lot of hikes you want to do are located in National Parks and dogs are not allowed there. So this one is a pretty wonderful one as it is just outside of a National Park and it leads you to the beautiful forest and into a massive open space. While in the forest the dogs have to be on their leads the are allowed to roam free as soon as you reach the open space. While we are loving it there you can see the joy on the dogs’ faces. It’s special to them too.

I was so exhausted yesterday on the drive there and felt so worn out. The moment we got out of the car and started walking I got better. I swear there is something to forest bathing. My energy levels went up right away. I’m so thankful for where life has taken us so far. Having all of this in our backyard almost is simply wonderful. In a short amount of time we are on a beach or in one of the most amazing National Parks. While walking yesterday I felt so grateful for being able to get all of it whenever I want it: The ocean, the mountain, the forest or open space…”
