It’s time to tackle a new week! Monday here we come! I am a strong believer in being in charge of your own happiness. While things from the outside can challenge you it’s entirely up to you how you approach them and how much you let them shape you. Happiness truly come from the inside. So let’s do this! Let’s kick this week off on a positive note:

It’s easy:

• Mention something that you consider being good in the comments

• Or write a post about it on your blog (please don’t forget the pingback if you do so I don’t miss out and also share the link to it in the comments below). Something good that happened to you recently, or something good you will experience in a little while, or something good you know will happen soon. Something that makes you feel good.

• Share this post and invite your followers as well.

You know it by now! We are not moving any further without a little happy dance. So shake those hips and whatever else you need to shake and dance…

fun dancing GIF

Let’s shake those hips and wiggle around, shimmy and twist and if you want to do a bit of a dance with your friends then have them join in… and once you are done, here is what I’d like to share with you today:

“Last week was a rough one for me. Hence the radio or better blogging silence. I always thought that the crazy old women group dancing in the kitchen (just like the one in the gif) would include me and specific friends of mine. One of them has just passed away. Sometimes things don’t go according to plan. While I’m still grieving of course, I also see so much positive. It makes me happy to have met her. To have had the chance to spend time with her. I’m thankful for all the giggles we had over countless bottles of wine.
There is an interesting side to it all. I know I can grieve as her friend. But at the same time I almost feel bad for it because I can only imagine how hard it is on her husband and kids. Just like we are all there for him and the children, my friends are there for me. They have reached out and check in on me still. This has shown me how much I mean to so many people while I was wondering if my friend ever knew how much she meant to me. And what a beautiful feeling to see how much your friends love you…”

Oh hello there! Today I’m coming to you from my Tuesday which feels like a Monday as we had a long weekend and enjoyed a public holiday yesterday. Hence me not realizing that it’s actually Monday and totally forgetting about this post… my, oh, my… Anyway, most of you are reading this early enough to start this week with a positive bang. Right? So even if it is Tuesday in some places already it’s still early enough to make this week a good one.

And round and round in circles you go. It’s totally fine when it’s about dancing. But hey, mix it up a little bit. You are in charge. Do it! Shake the hips, shimmy and do the twist… And once you are done here is what I’d like to share with you today:

“We took the kids to one of our favorite hikes. It’s also a hike we can take the dogs to, which is not a norm here in Australia. A lot of hikes you want to do are located in National Parks and dogs are not allowed there. So this one is a pretty wonderful one as it is just outside of a National Park and it leads you to the beautiful forest and into a massive open space. While in the forest the dogs have to be on their leads the are allowed to roam free as soon as you reach the open space. While we are loving it there you can see the joy on the dogs’ faces. It’s special to them too.

I was so exhausted yesterday on the drive there and felt so worn out. The moment we got out of the car and started walking I got better. I swear there is something to forest bathing. My energy levels went up right away. I’m so thankful for where life has taken us so far. Having all of this in our backyard almost is simply wonderful. In a short amount of time we are on a beach or in one of the most amazing National Parks. While walking yesterday I felt so grateful for being able to get all of it whenever I want it: The ocean, the mountain, the forest or open space…”

Have gentleness in your eyes and loving-kindness in your smile. I love this. We should approach every day like this. Although it’s no longer Monday on my side of the planet, it’s still time to make this week a good one. A positive one. Let’s tackle the week with gentleness and loving-kindness. To ourselves and to others.

Let’s kick this week off on a positive note:

It’s easy:

• Mention something that you consider being good in the comments

Keep it up for as long as you want and once you are done here’s what I like to share with you this week:

“I’m flat out! So much to get on top of. With my business but also with my volunteer work. And of course there is the family as well. I’m not stressed out. Not at all. I’m doing one step at a time but sometimes something has to give and in the moment it’s my blog. I can’t fit it in at the moment. Often I’m mentally too exhausted to sit down and come up with a good post. The mind has to be free in order to write. Don’t you think? My mind is occupied with so much at the moment. I know it will get better. You are probably wondering what the positive is here? Well I’m here writing this and you are here reading this and that’s amazing. I love our little community we have here. The support, the encouragement we give each other. I appreciate you being here right now and reading this. This is my happy moment, my something good I want to share with you. Because although I’m not posting the way I used to do, you are still here reading this. So thank you! Thank you for kicking my week off in a positive way :-)….”

It’s the key to happiness: Do what you like to do. But sometimes it’s not that easy, right? And yet, if we manage to chose something we truly like doing we will gain so much. Maybe we all should keep this in mind and work towards it rather then giving in to the daily grind… A big task, so let’s take little steps. Let’s just focus on a positive start into the week…

Let’s kick this week off on a positive note:

It’s easy:

Oh yeah! Own it! Let’s do another round. Remember, it’s your stage! They are all here to watch you and cheer you on. So be awesome! And shake those hips… wiggle and dance ;-)… And when you are done here is what I’d like to share with you today:

“I visited my friend in hospital end of last week and it was wonderful to spend time with her. She was in a good mood and she cracked a couple of jokes. It was wonderful to have a good laugh with her and see her giggle.”

Tell Me Something Good #108

It’s Monday here in beautiful Australia. The days are definitely much shorter now and it’s getting cooler too. Fall and winter bring some other things along like little bugs bugging you with colds. But hey, it’s not a big deal really. Monday is that kind of day that is often frowned upon. Because the grind starts all over again. Even my son said to me today that he thinks Monday is an annoying day as it’s back to school… I had to remind him that we just did a nice walk along the beach before school and that all his friends were sitting in a class room at this point. The beauty of homeschooling…

But I totally understood him. And it made me think about all the people who hate what they do and still have to head to work every day, over and over again. It’s not Monday’s fault that the grind starts all over on that specific day. It’s how we define it.

I remember back in the days when I was still in school. Businesses were closed on the weekends. Work started at 8 or 9 and then there was a lunch break. And everyone was done by 5 or 6pm. Now many businesses run over the weekend. There are hardly any proper breaks. It all flows. So why is it that Monday is still the “yuck’ day?

How about we look at Monday in a different way? How about we look at Monday as a great day to be alive? Because, let’s be honest: Every day is a great day to be alive really…

So let’s kick this week off on a positive note:

We are not moving any further without a little happy dance (I might run out of gifs for happy dances soon…). So shake those hips and whatever else you need to shake and dance…

dance dancing GIF

I know you have another round in you, so don’t give up just yet. Dance until you smile…

And once you’re done here is what I’d like to share with you today:

“Today I simply celebrate to be healthy and alive. To be able to walk and see, smell, hear, taste. To be able to hug my children, being hugged and have the most amazing friends and family every. Sometimes the little things in life are the biggest ones ever…”

I want to start this weeks TMSG post with a quote about happiness rather than Monday. There is so much on my mind at the moment that has a lot to do with happiness and I will get to it later.

I want to start the week with a positive post but I struggle today. It’s been a “bla” day. Mainly because of the fact that it was Mother’s Day yesterday and it was so beautiful to spend it with my family. Now you probably think I’m all nuts. But I explain:

My friend is very sick. I have mentioned it before. She has been moved to palliative care recently and we all know what that means. She got a “get out of jail card” yesterday as she calls it: She was allowed to leave the hospital for a couple of hours to spend the time at home with her family. While she was able to go home she still missed out on so much. Like the soccer game our girls played and seeing them win. She missed out on seeing her daughter be an amazing defender. She missed out on them running through a banner that was made to celebrate their 100th game. And she will miss out on so much in the future.

We had planned for me to go visit her today but she was too exhausted. Physically and mentally. So I didn’t get to see her.

So back to happiness: We all hold the key to happiness in our hands. And my friend is an incredible example of this. Because while she has all the reasons to not be happy, she still is. And it blows my mind so often. She teaches us an incredible lesson. She let’s go of the dark and invites the light. In doing so she creates that happiness that then surrounds her and finds its way to everyone around her.

I’d like to ask you today to take a moment to think about this and then decide what you want to do in the future. If you want to hold that key to happiness and be in charge or if you want circumstances to control your life. I know that this post is very different to my usual TMSG posts but I simply needed this today.

So for all of you who would like to play along and stick to “da rules”, here they are:

Now although this is different there is simply no way around a happy dance, people… so here it is 😉

It definitely can! So don’t get stuck in negative thoughts. Get yourself to see the good things that are waiting for you or that you just enjoyed. And then keep that smile on your face and the good vibe in your heart and tackle the week. Let’s do it! Let’s kick off this week on a positive note!

It’s easy:

I know you have another round in you, so don’t give up just yet. Dance until you smile…

And once you’re done here is what I’d like to share with you today:

“I thought I so often mention what made me happy that I should share what I’m looking forward to this week. So here we go: I’m really looking forward on seeing a dear friend of ours again end of the week. I also have a couple of catch ups and meetings planned for this week with people I really like so it doesn’t really matter what the outcome will be business-wise. And I want to go for a long walk along the beach again too, ideally together with the kids if they both are up for it. If not I will just go with the dogs and enjoy some me time.

The weather has been wonderful the last couple of days. nice and warm fall days and it seems to continue like this. So outside time is what I definitely will incorporate in my schedule. It simply feels so good to feel the warm sun on your back when walking along the ocean or hiking. You all know that fall is my favorite season and I really take it all in at the moment. My kids give me that kind of look when I explain to them once again how nice the air smells and start describing the smell of the leaves on the ground. Not sure if they get it just yet but I think one day they will do the same. Because all seasons smell different and it’s so nice to breathe it in and experience it…”

Tell Me Something Good #105

Isn’t that the truth… and when we fall we start thinking about getting up again instead of just doing it… So enough now. Let’s get up and move…

It before we do, as always, let’s do a little happy dance… even if you are chilling on the sofa…

Are you sure you are done? Are you sure you don’t want to dance a bit longer? It might make you feel good… See! Just another little round… And when you are done, here is what I’d like to share with you today…

“I find it difficult today to be all cheery. Some not so good news in relation to a close friend play with my mind and my feelings. And it’s almost numbing. At the same time though it shows how important it is to live your life to the fullest and create a life you are happy with. Because you really never know what cards you are dealt with. It all can change so suddenly. So live in the now. Enjoy the moments. Don’t be grumpy for too long and with the people you love the most (I know sometimes it’s hard). Look at the positive there is in your life and cherish it. Today the sun is shining. The weather is simply stunning. My son is here with me, my husband and my daughter are out at the moment. We hugged and we kissed. We laughed together already today. There is a lot of love between the four of us and we have a good time together. Little things? Simple things? Maybe. But aren’t they the most important things ever???”

Another round? Sure! Go for it! Wiggle and shake and dance and laugh… And when you are ready here is what I’d like to share with you today:

“My children are amazing. I’m just so proud of them. They are happy and smart and kind. This is a very short description about why I feel this is a great day. But it is a very big reason why I am so happy with my life. I could just simply take it as a normal thing but I’m grateful for it every day. It’s one of the things I focus on when other things don’t go as well as they should. And that’s what I mean by ‘putting your positive pants on’. Focus on what’s positive and be happy about it.”

Tell Me Something Good #103 – M for Monday (#atozchallenge)

Hello Monday! A new day, a new week and as always (like with any other new day) a new chance to make things happen. Whatever you want to do, whatever you want to achieve. It’s time to kick off this week on the right foot.

So let’s do it! Let’s kick off this week on a positive note. How?

It’s easy:

• Mention something that you consider being good in the comments

Another round? Sure! Just go for it! Dance like nobody’s watching and when you are done here is what I like to share with you today:

“I’m actually not feeling that well today but on the mend. And it was so beautiful to experience how my family looked after me. How they took care of everything that needs to be taken care of. While I was happy to see this, it also made me think about how long the kids will actually need me. While I know that they will not need me in the same way they did over the last years, I know that I will remain a part of their lives. And that my role will go from cleaning their behinds and feeding them to being there for them in a different way. It’s beautiful when you feel needed. Beautiful though as well, when you realize that you are no longer needed in the way you were. Everything changes. Everything develops. Life doesn’t stand still and moving along is a wonderful thing…”
