Monday often hits us in a different way. For me this day is kind of a “misunderstood” day. It’s a day just like any other. With the same amount of hours in it, the same challenges, the same everything just like other days. The problem though is, that Monday is on the wrong side of the weekend. Try not to let that get to you. You are awesome anyway, no matter what day it is. And you are especially awesome on Mondays. So let’s do it. Let’s start the week on a positive note!

“I’m awesome today because I don’t let the negative get to me. I focus on the positive this day will bring. The good thing I want to share with you is that I’m currently working. I’m doing a job that I totally enjoy doing and I can do it from home! How fantastic is that! I’m also free to write down the hours I do, which shows how much trust there is. Once again it’s a casual job but it is what I like doing and it gives me heaps of energy although sometimes some people I deal with are super complicated and some are borderline rude, but it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter because I can shake it off. I can shake it off because I love what I do. And that’s where the circle comes together.”

“Sometimes you can feel trapped in your thoughts and in this sense also in your body. Simply because your thoughts are in your body and you can feel like there is no escape. But there is. This week my good thing is that the ocean is so close by. I can get there at any time and on every given day if I like to. And just by looking at the waves I know that sometimes problems come but problems also go away again. As I said, just like a wave. Being at the beach and looking at the ocean lifts the weight off my shoulders and always manages to make me breathe deeper and calmer. And that is something I’m incredibly thankful for.”

New Monday, new week and working on your old goals works perfectly fine too. As long as you find your motivation. Sometimes it’s harder than on other days but never forget: The beginning of a new week can actually give you the boost you need. It’s all in your head and if you make it about a fresh breeze kind of thing, it will give you the necessary motivation.

Hello you all it’s Monday again in my little part of the world. The weekend has been very busy and yesterday, on my way to bed, I actually felt like all my energy had been used up. But let me tell you: I feel so energized today!

“It feels so good when you realize that friends of you totally get you. Totally understand the struggle you are in and know what you talk about. It’s a great thing to find yourself in the position where you don’t have to explain anything because they know. We were invited to friends last weekend and had a great time, having fantastic conversations. And it became clear that we know exactly what we talk about in regards to certain people in our lives. So far, even with really good friends I often felt I had to explain the situation and sometimes I felt like they did not really understand. No question in regards to their support but it makes it so much easier when you realize that people actually get what you talk about and no explanation is needed.”

“I’m back in my normal routine again and also started exercising again. I needed one week to reset and slow down and just reconnect and I took last week to do that. I’ve spent time with the kids (as always) and we enjoyed the beach and some outings. Somehow the after-event-blues has not really hit me hard this time, which was a bit of a surprise but honestly very much appreciated. I was able to catch up with all of you again and answer comments and leave some on your blogs. Feels good to be back ;-)”

Today I have the following message for you:

“There are always haters out there. Haters and doubters. People who will tell you that you won’t succeed anymore or maybe even never. But it’s not about them. It’s not about what they think or say. It’s about what you know, what you believe in and about what you put into it. I mentioned before that I believe tennis is actually teaching you a lot about life and the last weekend did it again, at least for me. Serena Williams won again. This time against her sister who only a few thought would make it into the final of a Grand Slam again. But she did. She did because she believed in her chances.

It was similar with the men’s final. We saw Roger Federer return after a 6months break. This is a very long time without playing any matches! Nobody thought he would make it to the final. Nobody thought he would win the first Slam of the year. Many actually thought he will never win a Grand Slam again. But he did it. Against one of the toughest opponents out there. He won because he believed in being able to win. He won because he did not give up.

I’m no Roger Federer or Serena or Venus Williams. But they all taught me that no matter what anyone else thinks or tells you: As long as you believe in yourself you can do it. You are in control. Once again I take this little life lesson and store it in my little corner in the brain, ready to fall back to it when I need the motivation in my day to day life. :-)”
