“I find it an amazing thing to see passion in someone. The way they speak about the things they are passionate about, the way they approach them. How it becomes part of them. My son has this massive passion for animals, specifically reptiles. While sometimes it almost gets a bit much for me to listen to all he knows about them, I watched him explain things to a friend of ours today and answer all her questions. When he walked off she told me how impressed she was not only about what he knew but also the way he explained it and the passion in his eyes and words. I tell you, it was one very proud mommy moment :-)”

Yes! I love this! Let’s sparkle! Sparkle is positive (unless you have to clean up glitter all over your house, then it’s sort of annoying…). Let’s just think of sparkle that is not glitter…

Just like everything, Monday too is only a state of mind. So if you are annoyed about the start into the new week then change it around. Rather than being sad about the weekend that has just passed, focus on all that you have ahead of you. The new beginnings, the new opportunities, the new connections and conversations you will have. The ups and downs. Make it yours, take control of it and be in charge.

Before I share my positive thing with you today how about we dance a little. I love my happy dances. Or just dancing as such. I know not everyone is a super dancer but we all have our moves. So don’t be shy, just do it. Swing those hips, wiggle your bottom or shimmy. Or just move a little bit from right to left or left to right. Just go with it. Have fun! Enjoy! Loosen up 😉

Doesn’t that make you feel good? It does, right? So go for another round, just keep going. Dance through your Monday and then through the week. Light on your feet, happy in your heart.

And when you are done (are you sure?) here is what I’d like to share with you today:

“Once more the house is filled with giggles. Giggles of our kids and their best friends. It amazes me how they manage to spend an entire day together without running into issues or out of steam. How they keep giggling, singing (although slightly out of tune) and just have a great time. Nothing seems to bother them. There are no worries, no fears. Just pure joy. A good reminder that life is good, that you are fine when you have the right people around. And that you can make the worst jokes ever, if you have the right friends they even laugh… maybe more about you then the joke but hey, they laugh…”

Isn’t it fantastic? TGIM! We are ready for the week, hopefully charged by a fantastic weekend and ready to tackle everything thrown at us. I strongly believe in mindset and if you see yourself starting strong, then you will dance through the next couple of days until you reach the weekend once again.

Before I share my positive thing with you today I’d like us all to laugh. I know, I know, it’s not easy to just start laughing but we all have that one thing that makes us laugh, so if you can’t just start laughing then just use that one thing. It might be a scene of a movie, a joke that always makes you laugh or something that happens to you or someone else that will get you go really giggle. So let’s do it!

Doesn’t that make you feel good! Laughter is like medicine, it always makes you feel better 🙂

” We celebrated our daughter’s birthday this weekend. She is a big planner and had everything planned out for months already. In fact I’m surprised that she is not planning our annual Halloween get-together just yet. Or even her next birthday. What I love to see is how she has a clear vision and actually manages to make it happen. But what is even more beautiful is to see that tight knit group of kids together. Watching them having a great time, giggling, playing and sharing memories together. I wonder if they will one day sit together and talk about a night like the one my girl’s party was on and chat about their memories of it…”

Before I share my positive thing with you today I’d like us all to dance, maybe even crazy dance. I know, I know, it’s always the dancing. But I truly think it loosens you up. So let’s do it!

Not sure if we should dance on the bed or on a sofa, but hey, if it makes you feel good, then do it! It’s all bout feeling good, right? So let’s dance! One more round. I know you want it too. So just a little bit longer.

And when you are done (are you sure?) here is what I’d like to share with you today:

“We bumped into people a week ago we have met about 3 years ago and have not seen since. Chances to end up sitting at the tables next to each other in a Café 1.5 hours away from where we live on a busy public holiday were slim. But it happened. When we first met we all were on a vacation in the far North of Australia, 3 hour plane trip away from home, and found out that we were actually only living about 20min away from each other. Kids got along great, we had a blast. We managed to catch up once or twice after we got home for the girls to have a play but then everyone went their way again. The husbands though, kept seeing each other during late night last minute trips to the local supermarket.

When we bumped into them last week we all laughed and said that it’s a sign. So we organized a dinner catch up at ours and it was one of the best evenings I had in a long time. Lots of laughter, good conversation and a night you walk away from with the plan to catch up again soon.

I really believe people meet for a reason. And when you then keep bumping into each other you should take that sign and do something.

But before I will share my good thing, I’d like you to just take a moment and sit down, breathe in and out. And just focus on who you really are.

Pause. Breathe. Love. Then go from there. We rush through our days so often and forget to just take in what’s around us. It can be as simple as a beautiful clear blue sky or feeling the nice warm sun on your back. But if we don’t stop and appreciate we will not realize what we actually have.

So here is what I’d like to share with you today:

“We had a long weekend with a public holiday today (Monday). The sun was out for most of it which made it a perfect time to head outside and spend time in a park, playing and having fun but also heading out on a little adventure with friends today and go fishing. Something my kids have never done so far. Yup… I know… We had a fantastic day and came home with heaps of fish. It was all about spending time with friends, being outside, and doing something new. But it was also about being still. You can’t rush around when you are fishing. It forces you to be still. And I really enjoyed that part of it. The fish we ate right after was of course also delicious and I’m sure what we have in the fridge now will be amazing once cooked too :-)…”

“I finally got into my yoga habit again. It feels so good to be back. At this stage is just at home as I’m trying to figure out when best to head out to a yoga studio but it’s enough and it makes me feel good. I read a post earlier today on Out An’ About about how good it feels to only focus on what you are doing at the very moment instead of hanging on to the thoughts that wear you down. Yoga does that for me too. You are in the moment, you focus on your breath on your moves and somehow you stop thinking. And when you then get back out of it you feel so much better. It clears the mind.”

“I have basically not seen my children all weekend. Weird to mention this here? Not really. I have not seen them because they have spend all of their free time with their friends. And they had a blast. I love their friends. Because they bring out the best in my children and they all act age appropriate. They can be who they are. Nothing beats having two happy children at the end of the day, telling you about the amazing time they had with their friends.”

And if you’d ask them, they would tell you that you are awesome. So take this on board. Believe in it. Believe that you are awesome!

“I enjoyed a couple of beautiful walks last week along the beach. It helps me reconnect with myself, with nature but also with my dad who has passed away 15 months ago. It was so beautiful to smell the ocean, to feel the sand under my feet, listen to the tiny little waves splashing. And just being myself. And when I then on one of the days got to see the seal taking a break on the beach from it’s journey my day was perfect. It’s not something that is normal around here. So it was a special gift. Something I truly appreciated.”

“It’s been a much better week and weekend. Mother’s Day was spent with my lovely family and they made a big brunch for me and then dinner in the evening. Honestly: I think I could have just survived on the brunch. I think it’s those little things that count. The extra hug I get the little letter form my daughter with some ‘free hugs’ and ‘free kisses’ vouchers and my son watching my favorite movie with me. They made me laugh and feel loved. And realize how lucky I am to have them in my life. How lucky I am to experience being a mother to two gorgeous children. A wonderful and extremely good thing indeed…”
