Tell Me Something Good #130

It’s one of those Mondays when a lot of people need something positive in their life. I’m thinking of everyone affected by the Californian fires. It breaks my heart to see what is going on and I wish there would be something we could do from here besides sending positive thoughts. Personally I find myself at the beginning of what is shaping up to be an incredibly busy week. So much going on but that’s good and I’m really looking forward to all of it.

So let’s start this week on a positive.

It’s easy:

• Mention something that you consider being good in the comments

• Or write a post about it on your blog (please don’t forget the pingback if you do so I don’t miss out and also share the link to it in the comments below). Something good that happened to you recently, or something good you will experience in a little while, or something good you know will happen soon. Something that makes you feel good.

• Share this post and invite your followers as well.

You know it by now! We are not moving any further without a little happy dance. It really doesn’t matter which style of dancing you like. Just do it. Just dance! Maybe you dance with a friend, just like Garfield and Otis… or just by yourself. In any case: Have some fun!

And once you are done, here is what I’d like to share with you all:

“So here I was, thinking of what to share and thinking that I can’t mention again how much I loved my walk along the beach. And then my phone rang and it was one of my lovely friends. We chatted about this and that and about the friends we lost this year. And it hit me. It’s about the little things. The fact that I was able to go and walk on the beach, to put my feet into the water and watch the seagulls. It’s about the risotto I cooked and that got demolished in no time by my family. It’s about the board game we played and the fun we had while doing so. It’s about the hail we had the other day, watching it bounce of the outdoor table. It’s about the hugs and cuddles. It’s about being alive and loved. That’s the good thing this week, every week…”

Blast From The Past – The Greener Grass…

There are things going on in my life that make me think a lot about the meaning of life, the way we treat people, respect, values, what appreciation really is all about and Karma.

We all know that there are people out there who seem to have everything. We also know that there are people out there who don’t have much. We know that there are people out there who are not happy although they have everything. And then there are people out there who have nothing but are truly happy.

It’s not about the grass in your yard. It’s not about how green it is. It’s not about getting what your neighbor has. It’s about making the most of what you have. I think a lot about appreciation lately. About appreciating what you have in your life without resentment, without jealousy, without greed. I’m stunned about some people who can just not live a happy life because they waste their time with resentment, with greed, with agendas that don’t help anyone, not even them in the long run. And yet they think what they do is right.

I wonder: Who decides what shade of green grass actually has to be in order to be perfect? Or better: Why do we listen constantly to people telling us which grass is the nicest? Why do we get ourselves into running after the same shade of green everyone else is after? Why don’t we just appreciate our patch of grass and look after it as well as we can?

Forgive me for being all over the place. Maybe my Blast From The Past will make more sense. I leave you with it while I keep pondering about people…

MakeItUltra Blogger Award

If you are reading my award posts and you are not a blogger you might wonder what this blogger award thing is all about. Well, I can tell you what it is about for me: Appreciation. Some one out there actually thinks that my blog is worth being mentioned and being given one of the blogger awards. Although I will not have a real trophy to put up in a cabinet I still love to collect these little tokens of  appreciation.

Clarion Alley 2012Today is kind of like my happy day. First Jason with his amazing review and then this as well! Well, I found out about both of it yesterday actually, but writing about it and now posting it (after an amazing walk along the beach) made it so real. I can’t stop smiling to be honest.

Thank you so much, Rob, for nominating me for the Respect Award! I feel very honored to have been part of your list and I have lots and lots of respect for you and what you blog about as well!

Here is what Rob says about this award:

“The “Respect” Award is my personal award for fellow bloggers who consistently reach out to other bloggers, offer support, are kind, struggle to understand differences in people, and who treat themselves and other people with kindness and respect.

You don’t have to do anything for this award.

You can choose to copy the Award Picture and give the award to the people who have earned your respect or you can do nothing.

This is my way of saying thank you. You have earned my respect.”

I would like to list a couple of bloggers that have earned my respect for their constant support:

Erika Kind
But I smile anyway… (I know you have been nominated already…)
Nutsrok (I know you’ve been nominated too…)
