Liquid… so soft, so gentle, so warm. And yet so powerful…

Place In The World
For this weeks photo challenge Erica V. asks us: “Where do you belong? In the hustle and bustle of a big city or amongst friendly faces in a small town? For this week’s challenge, show us your place in the world.”
Frankly, I deeply believe that I belong with my family, no matter where we are. One of my fellow blogger once explained to me that there is such a thing like a soulmate but for a place as well. I know that there are places I would move to in a heartbeat. Because I feel a connection. So if it comes to showing you my place in the world I can’t pinpoint it to one.
Set
I’m such a sucker for sunsets, so forgive me if I use this week’s photo challenge one more time to share some more pictures of a beautiful sunset…
Favorite Place
So happy that some of my most favorite places are so close to home. But there are a couple that are far away. While I can’t physically make it there all the time, I do enjoy “heading there” in my mind, while daydreaming. And somehow this can give you almost the same kind of relieve as actually being there. Well… maybe not that much, but at least you can imagine being there 😉
Story
I always say that wind and water tell a story. Just imagine where they go, what they encounter, the area they cover. Imagine what they “see”. When you are out there in the wind, listening to it, feeling it on your skin in your hair, it tells you the story of its journey. When you are in the ocean, surrounded by water, feeling the small or big waves on your body, you already know how far it has traveled and that the cycle is only about to start again. From the little raindrop, to the spring, the river, the lakes, the ocean… It travels through the atmosphere, the different layers of our Earth, and through landscape, past people, animals, nature.
When you are out there in the wind, in the water you can feel its power, its story and when the two of them come together it’s one of the most energizing experiences ever…
Out Of This World
There are so many things in this world, on our planet, that seem to be totally from out of this world. I think a jelly is one of those things. They are mesmerizing, beautiful in a strange way and definitely like nothing else on this planet.
A Face In The Crowd
There are some things that blow me away time after time. It’s being at an event, a sports event or a concert and seeing all those people there, enjoying it too. It amazes me how one person, one band, one singer, one athlete, a team can create such an energy. I often wonder how amazing, how energizing it must feel if you stand on that stage and see all those people in front of you. And while I think about it I realize that every single one of us are just that one face in the crowd. But every single one of us does their part to create the amazing energy we all feel…
Sweet
Believe me, losing weight is not easy when you get spoiled with sweet surprises like this… Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s Day.
Tour Guide
“What do you recommend us to go see?” A harmless and yet so challenging question… I’m not a tour guide and therefor I really don’t know if I would give the best advice. I don’t even know “my” city well enough to give good enough pointers. Usually I start with all the things further away to then realize that I should mention things in the city… Here just a little peek of what I think is worth having a little look at in Melbourne…
Stroll along the Yarra River… my favorite time is when the sun sets…
Walk along the beach… (one of them…)
Check out the view of our city… and of course take a picture of our colorful “boxes”…
Take a tour of Melbourne Olympic Park…
Relax in one of the many parks…
And don’t forget to have a coffee (maybe with less chocolate on it…)…
Silence
Believe it or not, this image came to my mind when I saw the word “silence” just now. It’s the view I have when stepping out of one of our temporary offices at the Australian Open. It’s the place you go when you need a breather. A bit of silence (although it’s never really quiet out there while the event is on…). And yet it feels silent…
