Blast From The Past – About Stealing

Do you believe people belong to people? Do you? See, I don’t.

While I see why we use the phrase “I belong to you” and it makes sense in a way, it should never really mean that someone truly belongs to someone. There is no ownership. We are individuals and while we most likely feel happy to find someone that suits us and completes us, we will always remain individuals. Free and independent. Just the way it should be.

We link arms, we are partners, we move on and grow together but we never are a possession of the other one. I hope you don’t mind if I bring up a post I shared with you previously in regards to this. Happy weekend you all…

Tell Me Something Good #112

Image result for Monday motivation image

It’s time to tackle a new week! Monday here we come! I am a strong believer in being in charge of your own happiness. While things from the outside can challenge you it’s entirely up to you how you approach them and how much you let them shape you. Happiness truly come from the inside. So let’s do this! Let’s kick this week off on a positive note:

It’s easy:

• Mention something that you consider being good in the comments

• Or write a post about it on your blog (please don’t forget the pingback if you do so I don’t miss out and also share the link to it in the comments below). Something good that happened to you recently, or something good you will experience in a little while, or something good you know will happen soon. Something that makes you feel good.

• Share this post and invite your followers as well.

You know it by now! We are not moving any further without a little happy dance. So shake those hips and whatever else you need to shake and dance…

Let’s shake those hips and wiggle around, shimmy and twist and if you want to do a bit of a dance with your friends then have them join in… and once you are done, here is what I’d like to share with you today:

“Last week was a rough one for me. Hence the radio or better blogging silence. I always thought that the crazy old women group dancing in the kitchen (just like the one in the gif) would include me and specific friends of mine. One of them has just passed away. Sometimes things don’t go according to plan. While I’m still grieving of course, I also see so much positive. It makes me happy to have met her. To have had the chance to spend time with her. I’m thankful for all the giggles we had over countless bottles of wine.
There is an interesting side to it all. I know I can grieve as her friend. But at the same time I almost feel bad for it because I can only imagine how hard it is on her husband and kids. Just like we are all there for him and the children, my friends are there for me. They have reached out and check in on me still. This has shown me how much I mean to so many people while I was wondering if my friend ever knew how much she meant to me. And what a beautiful feeling to see how much your friends love you…”

One Stolen One Given Up

When I wake up I usually pick up my phone and read through FB and comments here on my blog. Today I got stuck on FB reading all those posts about Kate Spade. And I felt sad.

Sad not because I knew her but because for someone who seems to have everything in life to take her life being only 55 made me feel sad. But then what do we really know? All we see is a successful fashion designer. We have no clue what she’s dealing with on the inside, in the privacy of her life.

While I was reading up on it a text message arrived. When I saw who sent it I knew immediately it wouldn’t mean good news. See, he doesn’t text really… I thought that maybe I was wrong and maybe he needed help with the kids today for whatever reason. Maybe it was not about what I feared it would be.

But it was. My friend passed away over night. Peacefully in her sleep. I really hope it was peacefully because she fought a hard enough fight for way too long.

I find myself sitting here with a whirlwind of thoughts in my head about how different the stories of my friend and this stranger ended. One wanted to stay, one wanted to go. Both of them leaving people behind that will miss them dearly. And I can’t stop thinking that one life was stolen and one was simply given up…

I Was Telling My Daughter…

“I was telling my daughter…” was how the message started. It was a message that was sent to me by one of the couple of people I consider my “inner circle” here in Australia. I know her for a couple of years now, all thanks to our daughters. She is one of those women that fill the room with warmth. But she is also a tough nut. She is honest and straight forward. And I guess that’s why people just simply love and trust her. She is also one of the few who know who the Momma behind this blog actually is. So after I posted my “Sleepovers” post she reached out to me. Because that’s who she is. She tells you… and don’t you like it when one of your posts provokes a reaction? So here is what she had to say:

Tell Me Something Good #83

Time for a positive start into the week. While Monday is almost over on my side of the globe it’s only just about to start in other parts. So let’s do this.

So before I share my good thing let’s do another happy dance. As you know I love my happy dances and so I decided to just keep doing it.

Are you having fun? Yes? Then keep dancing. Just dance as if no one is watching you (most likely nobody is anyway as their eyes are glued on their screens 😜). Just dance, enjoy yourself, have fun. Be happy!

And when you are done, here is what I’d like to share with you today:

“We spent the most amazing time in a city we’ve never been to visiting our friend we haven’t seen for many years. Not only was it great to discover a new place together with a local, but reconnecting with someone so dear and realising how close we all are despite not having seen each other for so long was simply amazing. Now we’re off to new adventures with memories made and a friendship with even deeper roots in our hearts…”

Share Your World – September 18th, 2017

Whoa this week as gone by so fast. It was a great week full of new and exciting things for me. And my poor blog baby had to sit there and wait for me to find a moment to actually give it some attention. So here I am, trying to catch up and keep up ;-). Of course Cee’s super Q&A can’t be ignored so this is the first one I will attend to before making sure I say hi to you guys…

For those of you not knowing about her challenge, here are some pointers:

“Good morning everyone. I thought I would switch things up a bit on Share Your World. I will still be asking four questions, but the fourth question will be the same each week. The last question will be about anything that inspires you. Even though I oftentimes will add photos to my answers, it is not a requirement to participate in Share Your World.”
