#atozchallenge – U for Unicorn

No, I’m not on the wine again. Actually it’s morning here while I type this and I’m having a coffee. So blame it on a coffee. But I want to write about unicorns because unicorns are magical and wonderful.

You might think that’s all nice but unicorns are not real. And you might be right. But then I wonder: Do we really know that? Can we be 100% certain?

While we think we have our planet all figured out, there are still spots that we have not been to. There are places we have not seen yet. There are parts in the Amazon nobody has been to, mountain tops nobody has conquered yet and areas of the ocean that are unknown to us still.

So how can we be certain that some magical creatures don’t exist? How can we claim we know?

Some might call it crazy but I refuse to stop believing in magic. I refuse to stop believing that there are creatures our there we have no clue about. I believe in magic. I believe in the unknown. I want to see the world with the wonder of a child. I want to be able to imagine the fairies and unicorns out there. Because it puts a smile on my face. It’s a good thing. A beautiful thing. And while our world is beautiful as such, there is a lot of not-so-nice out there too. We need a bit of magic in our life…

Miracles – #atozchallenge

So many people take what we have for granted. They consider it normal, they don’t see the little magical things anymore and they for sure are not looking for the little wonders out there any longer. It makes me sad to see people like that. They seem “grey” to me.

Grey because they don’t see the color of the sky as something pretty. It’s just the way it is. They don’t smell the different scents in the air, don’t realize the difference of crisp early morning air in fall or winter to the fresh air in summer. For them it’s just about breathing in and out and not even that is appreciated.

A Story About Magic

I often struggle with advertising. I think most of the TV ads are just so silly, so stupid and so pushy. Every now and then though there is a great one. A funny one or one that just makes you stop, breath and watch.

This one for me is one of them. In fact it rally takes me in. I find it incredibly beautiful.

Blast From The Past – Don’t Stop Believing

This blast from my blogging past is clearly triggered by Dream Big, Dream Often’s post, which I highlighted in this weekend’s Picks Of The Week as well. I think it’s crucial that we don’t stop believing in the impossible. That we don’t let our fantasy fade, just because we are told or taught that certain things just don’t exist or are simply not possible. I admire children because they still see the world with this innocence, with this wonder we have somehow lost on our way to so called wisdom. I wonder who the wiser one is…

I still believe. I believe in the unthinkable, I believe in the impossible and I believe in the magic that is out there. And I would love to invite you all to do the same. The world will be a much better place if we all start seeing it the way children do…

The Quote Challenge – Keep Believing 1

I was nominated by the lovely Erika Kind for the 3 Day Quote Challenge. It’s such a great challenge that I keep accepting nominations :-). I figured this time I’ll set myself a little theme and try to find quotes I like according to this theme. Although Erika had proposed spring as a theme I’d rather go with “Keep Believing”. Believing in the magic that is out there…

Rules for Three-Day Quote Challenge

  • Thank the blogger, who nominated you.
  • Publish 3 quotes on 3 consecutive days in your blog. It can be your own, or from a book, movie or from anyone who inspires you.
  • Nominate 3 more bloggers to carry on this endeavor.

Here are the bloggers I’d like to nominate today:

Fill Your Own Glass

And last but not least here is the quote for today:

Don’t Stop Believing

Jack Frost, Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, Mr Sandman and the Tooth Fairy. They all have something in common. And it is not just the movie “Rise Of The Guardians”! Kids believe in them!

Do you remember, when you were lying on your back, looking up to the sky and imagining pictures in the clouds; dreaming of magical creatures, seeing all sort of different things in the shapes the clouds formed?

We grow up believing in the magical world of fairies, magical creatures like unicorns, Santa Claus, Easter Bunny and so on. They bring some unexplainable thrill into our life and sometimes they are used by adults to make kids behave. But they all make us wonder and dream and hope and look forward to something.
