This week Silvain Landry asks for ‘Ground‘ as the task in his Photo Challenge. What if we change our perspective, suddenly finding ourselves in the size of a child?
I often find myself looking at things from the perspective of a child. Especially when walking in a forest, admiring the huge trees or when watching the ocean. It is so huge and makes me feel so little in comparison…
It’s back! Finally, Silvain Landry’s fantastic photo challenge is running again. Check out his SL-Week 2 here if you are interested. There are usually some pretty good shots to check out.
The task for the first one of this “season” is Selfie. Selfies are fun but you won’t find one of me on my social network. Not my thing 😉
As you won’t find pictures of me online, the one picture you all know from my Gravatar is the closest you can get to see a selfie of me online. Hope that still counts 😉
This post is also today’s contribution for the Taboo Word Challenge. The word to avoid was “I”.

Sometimes it doesn’t need a cake for candles. A snowball can do it too. Fire and snow, opposites that work well together, don’t you think?
Usually I would post my Share Your Wold answers but Cee is taking off this week to celebrate 4th of July properly. And so she should. As Silvain Landry’s ‘Birthday’ task asks for pictures of a celebration of a very equally important status I decided to make it my Tuesday post this week. You gotta be flexible, right 😉
When I walk outside later in the day at the moment I can smell the fires. I can smell the burning wood and my memory immediately makes me feel the warmth the fireplaces must be giving inside our neighbors’ houses. I wish we would have a fireplace too. Nothing better than coming home from a winter day spent outside, being cold and then lighting a fire and sit there, listen to the cracking sound of the burning wood and warming slowly up. Silvain Landry chose this weeks photo challenge task Fire in the right moment. Only thinking about a nice fireplace or a beautiful campfire makes me feel warmer right away.
This week Silvain Landry asks for “Silouette” in his weekly photo challenge. In a way it made me think of a post I read yesterday about past, present and future. Somehow the words ring in my years. The author says the following:
What you think as past is nothing but your recollection, from your memories, of what you suppose to have happened. It’s not real, it doesn’t exist now, it’s only your memories. And what you think as future is your imagination. Right now it exists only in your mind, otherwise it is not real. The present is the only time that comes close to real, present is what you perceive to be happening right now, and even all recollection (of the past) and all imagination (of the future) can happen in your mind only in the present moment. – Jnanagni
Almost the same with silouettes, don’t you think so? The trees in the first picture, dark, black in front of the setting sun. They are not the way they are in real as in real they are not black. But they seem this way, only being a silouette. The building in the fog, almost disappearing, leaving you with the memory of how it looks once swallowed by the fog. Or the silouette of me standing on the beach, long legs (oh so different to reality). Only my shadow, only a silouette projected on the sand. Not real. And yet, still here, existing, being present, leaving memories…
Blue is the color of the sky and the ocean. I love blue. Blue is calm. And it’s what Silvain Landry is asking this week for his photo challenge.
Very hard to choose a picture for this weeks SL-Week Challenge. I love wind. I think it tells a story. The story of its journey around the world. Here are some more pictures that immediately came to my mind when I saw the word “wind“. Hope you like them…
One of the things that fascinate me in Australia are all the birds we have here. Cockatoos, Emus, all the normal birds you find everywhere else basically, lorikeets, frogmouths, owls and so on. The ones I adore the most are the lorikeets with their amazingly colorful feathers. And they are loud. Well, at least you know where to find them. It’s difficult to choose a picture today for Silvain Landry’s SL-Week Photo Challenge so I decided to post a couple of them.

This week Silvain Landry asks for photos of cars for his Photo Challenge SL-Week. While the beautifully decorated mailbox does not feature a car but rather a tractor, it still is closely related to the challenge as the picture was taken on a roadtrip and out of our car. And in a way a tractor is kind of a car too… right?
I actually won one of Silvain’s challenges, the “Tree” one. You can find the post here. The picture that won is the second one. I got his notification this morning and it made me so happy! A good way to start the day 🙂
