Last day for the Song A Day Challenge. It’s the second round for me and this time I got invited by Rob, whose blog Art By Rob Goldstein is truly amazing. I truly enjoyed the last “run” as it makes me think about the music I like to listen to and also why I do like the songs that much.

  • Post what the lyrics mean to you ( optional)
  • Post the name of the song and video

Two incredibly wonderful voices. Just love this version. No reason for it. Just love it.

Today I would love to invite Irene to participate. Hope you have fun 😉

Not sure if I really have a story for this song besides often having listened to it while in the car driving to or home from an event. And of course listening to it while watching a sunset. It’s just one of the relax songs for me.

Today I’d like to invite Thoughts Of An E’Ville Woman to participate. Have fun 🙂

Just like so many songs, this one here was a steady “friend” of mine for a while, dealing with boys and growing up, maybe even with finding myself. You never stop growing up, you know… and you also deal with boys for all your life in that sense 😉

Today I’d like to invite Jacqueline to participate in this fun challenge. Hope you have fun 🙂

I chose the following song because I can’t get it out of my head ever since Friday. I was out with the kids and on the way back this song played in the radio and my two and their friend started singing along full blast. I loved the confidence they had and how much they seemed to enjoy it. Not a bad song to have stuck in your head, right?

With this I’d like to invite Angela to participate in the challenge. Just because I know how much she likes Adele and I would love to see which 5 songs she will choose. Have fun, my friend 🙂

The song I’m sharing today is “special” because it’s one of the songs my daughter danced to in her dance school and I loved watching the girls expressing their feelings through dance. So now, every time I hear this song it puts a smile on my face and I remember how my daughter moved to the music. The words probably don’t mean too much to her yet but it’s the music itself that made her choose certain moves and just go with how it made her feel.

And it makes me think right now… Makes me think how often it would be good to only focus on how something makes you feel rather than paying too much attention to what is said…

Today I’d like to pass this challenge on to Miriam over at Out An’ About. The title of the most recent post on her blog made me think of one of one of my favorite songs…

Have fun, my friend 🙂

Love Is All Around: Song A Day Challenge – Day 5

It is everywhere and it’s strong. Love. A deep feeling, that leaves us longing, gives us butterflies, happiness, blues but also a feeling of belonging. The most beautiful thing in life is when you find the right person to share it with, to walk next to each other, carry each other, lift each other up, support each other, make each other better. It’s about your “partner in crime”, the one you can steal horses with, the one you want to build on for the rest of your life. It’s about give and take.

I have found my other half and I’m sure glad I did. I know we have something special and I’m grateful for it every single day. We have a story. A story that started many years ago and is still a work in progress. I find a couple’s story one of the most beautiful things to hear or read and luckily many of you already shared yours with me to highlight on my blog in my feature Couples – Your Stories.

Do you have a story to share? A story about your special someone? I would love to hear it. It’s easy, you know. Just email it to amommasview@gmail.com (or leave the link to it in the comments) and I will share it on my blog and link back to yours. All those stories are special and every single one of them puts a smile on people’s faces 🙂

This is also my last post for the Song A Day Challenge. Thanks heaps to The Bag Lady, who has nominated me for this fun little exercise. Today I would like to invite For The Love Of Facts to participate. Have heaps of fun and I can’t wait to check out your song choices 😉

The following song is called The Sea and is a Morcheeba song. I don’t know when I heard that song for the first time but I often listened to it when I was on the road to or back from a block of work. It calmed me down after an event or gave me energy before one. It made me dream, smile, think. I still love the song…

Today I’d like to invite Cee to participate in this challenge. I hope you are up for it 🙂

Not much to say about this one, just that it was one of the songs I listened to after a break up. Over and over and over and over again… mixed feelings… a lot of mixed feelings…

I would like to pass the challenge on to Just Plain Ol’ Vic today. Have fun… 🙂

Today’s song is Youssou N’Dour ft. Neneh Cherry’s “7 Seconds”.

It’s one of the songs I played over and over again many years ago and till today this part of the lyrics stands out to me:

And when a child is born into this world
It has no concept
Of the tone the skin it’s living in
And there’s a million voices
And there’s a million voices
To tell you what she should be thinking
So you better sober up for just a second…

Today I nominate sonofabeach96 for the challenge. Have fun 🙂
