It’s been a while since we had friends staying with us. It’s a big deal for us to invite people to actually stay with us while they visit. I’ll be straight forward and honest in that sense: It’s hard! I find it incredibly hard to have people staying with us.
We love to have friends over for dinner or lunch or catch ups. But that’s different. You get together, you enjoy the conversation, the meal, the chats, the spending time together and then your guests leave and you clean up what needs to be cleaned up and everything goes back to normal.
I know that it’s similar with house guests. And yet it’s so very different.
So thankful for having been rewarded once again. The Bee Writes… has nominated me for The Blogger Recognition Award, an award that I happily accept. I know that many of you out there have decided to go award free. Maybe because the awards and the “rules” attached to them are more or less the same over and over again and I understand that it might feel a bit overwhelming covering it on multiple cases. I think though, that it’s a great way to show a bit more from you as a blogger, to reveal just that tiny little bit extra about you. And it’s for sure a nice appreciative nod we all like from time to time.
We reached the middle of the first month of 2017 and I figured I could start a new regular thing on my blog besides the Picks Of The Week and the Tell Me Something Good “series”. From now onward on the 15th of each month I will invite you to come over and party with me. Share your link and meet other bloggers in my feed.
- Comment on the post and leave a link to one of your posts
- Say hi to at least 3 other bloggers who left a comment (visit the link they left and leave a comment there so they know you came over and will visit you too)
- Share this post with your readers and tag it with #MommasBlogParty
Ready? Great! Then let’s party!!!!
WordPress has launched a new “design” of it’s reader. Or better a new organization. Part of their new and improved campaign that often does not really feel that improved. To be honest, when I read Cindy’s post about it this morning I thought it would be worse.
You never stop learning, right? Every day, every moment can bring a lesson, can teach you something new. I thought I already picked up a lot in regards to blogging over the last two years and I actually thought I had the pingbacks under control. Well, seems like there is one thing I did not know about pingbacks just yet!
Heading out on a hike, on the quest to discover something special, leads you over many paths, many rocks and roots, pieces of wood, muddy parts, smooth boardwalks past beautiful sights. Just like life.
Sometimes we pass by beautiful bits without noticing them, too focused on our next step. Sometimes we see them, stop and take it in in awe.
It’s all out there, ready to be discovered, ready to put a smile on our face. Ready to energize us. All we need to do is to look up…
Do you? I think we all get to the point eventually. It’s been okay for me for a while but recently I struggled big time with my WordPress App. It took forever to load. I thought that eventually there would be an update but it never came.
Then I read a post on Hugh’s fantastic blog about comments that suddenly end up in the spam folder. Not only did I leave a comment about that issue but also asked Hugh if he had ever heard of or encountered the issue with the App. Long story short: Hugh provided me with the tip that solved the issue and now my App works perfectly fine again: Delete the App and download it again… Simple, right, but for some reason I did not think about it…
So if you ever have an issue, not only WordPress itself can help you but Hugh might have the solution for you too…
… That A Momma’s View is celebrating its 2nd Anniversary today? The very first post went online on September 3rd and had no likes and comments yet. Only one day later I posted my second post and actually got 9 comments.
At the very moment, writing this post A Momma’s View had a total of 137’423 views, 42’339 visitors and features 2’010 posts. The best day with the most views so far was July 30th this year with 540 views… 2’152 beautiful people decided to follow this blog.
You all did your thing. You came over to read my posts, you wrote posts that inspired me, left comments and likes. I can’t thank you enough!
Time to actually open that bottle, right?
But there is more, wait for it:
- You can actually buy me a cup of coffee by simply scrolling down and click the link 😉 Thanks to those of you who have already invited me to a cuppa…
- You can find A Momma’s View on Social Media:
- Some of my pictures are available as prints on Etsy
- And I promise I will keep writing as long as you keep reading and challenging me with your comments 😉
Thank you all for the support you have given me over the last 2 years. It’s been a blast! I can not put in words what I’ve learned from all of you, from your posts and comments. The comments you left on my posts but also the many comments I read on other posts. I feel like I have a world full of friends. People that think alike or challenge me to look at things in a different angle. And I’m incredibly grateful for this experience.
From the bottom of my heart: Thank you!
When I’m asked what I think is the biggest thing I got out of blogging I usually answer connections. Before A Momma’s View was born I would have never imagined how many new connections I would make. How many like minded people I would come across. It’s a pleasure to have met you and to meet you all, future connections…
It’s an amazing thing, you know. You suddenly get into this conversation with someone who lives somewhere across the globe but you immediately connect. You realize that you understand what the other person is saying, that they get you. Blogging is a social media as well. But the difference to all the other platforms is huge.
I was waiting a little bit for this to be posted. I kind of had to let it sink in. What an amazing year of blogging it’s been. This blog is still so young. When 2015 started I looked back to what I had achieved as a new blogger in only just about 3 months and set a little goal for 2015. My goal was to reach 40’000 views by the end of it. Thanks to all of you this number has more than doubled and I really want to thank you all for this, for your steady support, for your inspiration and for all the exchange we all have.
