Tell Me Something Good #61

I have to say, I’m guilty of that too. But it’s never too late, right? Let’s start now!

So let’s do this. Let’s kick off this week with a positive thought. By sharing something good, something that made you happy or you are looking forward to .

It’s easy:

  • Mention something that you consider being good in the comments
  • Or write a post about it on your blog (please don’t forget the pingback if you do so I don’t miss out and also share the link to it in the comments below). Something good that happened to you recently, or something good you will experience in a little while, or something good you know will happen soon. Something that makes you feel good.
  • Share this post and invite your followers as well.

But before I will share my good thing, I’d like you to just take a moment and sit down, breathe in and out. And just focus on who you really are.

Pause. Breathe. Love. Then go from there. We rush through our days so often and forget to just take in what’s around us. It can be as simple as a beautiful clear blue sky or feeling the nice warm sun on your back. But if we don’t stop and appreciate we will not realize what we actually have.

So here is what I’d like to share with you today:

“We had a long weekend with a public holiday today (Monday). The sun was out for most of it which made it a perfect time to head outside and spend time in a park, playing and having fun but also heading out on a little adventure with friends today and go fishing. Something my kids have never done so far. Yup… I know… We had a fantastic day and came home with heaps of fish. It was all about spending time with friends, being outside, and doing something new. But it was also about being still. You can’t rush around when you are fishing. It forces you to be still. And I really enjoyed that part of it. The fish we ate right after was of course also delicious and I’m sure what we have in the fridge now will be amazing once cooked too :-)…”

  1. Lovely post Sandra. I had a nice long weekend and today had my extended family over for lunch which was really nice. This afternoon, despite the rain, I enjoyed a long walk and catch up with my sister. Have a great week ahead. 🙂

  3. That’s great that you had a successful fishing trip. You are brave to face those fish. I was always thrilled when my son went fishing and didn’t catch anything that I had to deal with later.

  4. I so understand the appeal of fishing, just not fond of it because I don’t care for the smell of fish or being still with nothing to do. I have to be doing needlework or something quiet that I don’t think about while I’m doing it and have something pretty for my time. It’s like pulling weeds, very meditative but fishing is good for kids. Mine loved it. Their dad took them for catch and release fishing. I’ve started walking in the early mornings saying my gratitude’s out loud. I’m very centered when I start my day. It’s like fishing for me. I even got a little fuzzy loving along my walk when I meet someone walking their dog. Hope you have a wonderfilled week.

  5. Sounds you had a relaxing thoughtful weekend 🙂 Something positive for me.. The husband and I have successfully set up our first “home” (albeit rented) as a couple. Last three weeks have been a whirlwind but so good!

  6. Hello amommasview,
What a lovely post. I’ve just posted (earlier than my normal Thursday) due to another learning curve about ‘reblogging’… it’s instant!
But I am happy to share with you here that I love winter and all that goes with it. I feel alive all rugged up and then coming inside to warmth.
    A great idea for a post 💐✨✨

  8. Reading your good thing spurred a very happy memory of a similar long ago – at least 10-15 years – experience shared in my family. I’m not sure that our daughters will remember it, but I know their father and I still smile when we remember the first and possibly only time we all went fishing on Panguitch Lake in Utah on a late winter or early spring day.
