My Picks Of The Week #51

Time does go by very fast. This year has almost reached its end and it saw many many amazing people go. My Dad was only one of them. This week we lost another amazing person and while I’m glad that he is now pain free and most likely in a happier place I still wonder how life for the people close to him will go back to normal. We watch the sun go up and down, the clouds pass by, the flowers bloom, the seasons change. We see our children grow up and in a way we just take it for granted. The moments pass and we treat it as if it is normal. As if it is not a big deal.

The friend we lost this week had many stories to tell. He had stories because he lived life to the fullest. He lived, he loved and he took in.

So getting close to the end of this year I have one wish for you all and for myself: Live your life, love the right people, embrace life, enjoy life, cherish the moment, look up. Be.

My Picks Of The Week #49

The days are nice and long and warm down here at this time of the year. Summer for us has officially arrived and that means the end of yet another year is just around the corner. With the change of the year comes an important decision along as well: Considering changes for a better self for the next year in our life. I’m a bit torn when it comes to this. I believe that you don’t have to wait for a new year to change something for the good as every new day offers you that chance. But I know that many  of us will sit down and consider changes, make plans and hopefully follow through.

Anyway, we still have time and right now we only face the end of yet another week. I hope you will enjoy the couple of posts I’m going to share with you here. Have a happy weekend you all 🙂

To be honest thought, I can’t wait till it’s Christmas and I love checking out the Christmas countdown to be sure I know exactly how many days are left. And I admit, my countdown will most likely start again right after Christmas. Not that I want the year to be over and done with that fast but Christmas is just such a nice time of the year.

Can it be? Can there only be 5 full weeks left in this year? Hang on… didn’t we just only start into this year recently? I remember so clearly when I posted this post about letting go of something significant… It truly feels like it was yesterday. Even my son told me today that he feels like time is flying past. And he is only a freshly baked teenager. Wait and see, my boy, wait and see.

Isn’t it crazy that this week, a week the entire world has focused on for months is over now? And what a week it has been! I will keep from writing about how surprised I am in regards to the outcome of the election. But I would like to repeat something a friend of mine has said: We should not forget that this, too, is about democracy. A decision was made and now it’s about how to make the best of the situation.
